Oh and Vulture is doing a book review on SK 'sorry, right number' Not read the short story- but did read the synopsis - sounds like 'Frequency' to me .
Philip K. Dick has written some interesting ones. The Man in the High Castle but that is perhaps more of a Alternate history. Great in any case. And Dr. Futurity Thats is definitely a timetravel novel. Both written during Dicks prime. These are written early 60-ties.
Is that the one where this guy falls in love with an actress from another era?
Oh, now that would be interesting for sure.Time Traveler's Wife (sic) (being from England,it should be traveller's) is my favourite ( not favorite). Stephen Fry's, Making History is worth a read. It's like 11/22/63 (22/11/63) with Hitler replacing JFK. ()
Just remembered some more good ones. Time and Again by Jack Finney, The End of Eternity by Isaac Asimov and The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers.
It was interesting, so tempted to post spoilers about it.
End of Eternity? Was that the one where it was almost like getting in a lift to visit different times?
I think so. The eternals had to guard time to make certain that their future (of all possible futures) really happened so to speak.
Went to see Interstellar on Sunday, and that was one of the many SciFi books that it reminded me of.
Ben Elton has just released one called "Time and Time Again", similar to Making History, but based on World War One. Butterfly effect abound.
Ben Elton is a very funny author, well, a lot of real world issues of course but delivered in a way that will make you laugh out loud.
He was a great stand up comic back in the day. Very political. His funny books remind me of Tom Sharpe,who unfortunately died this year. Ben's last couple of books have been serious. The First Casualty was about WW1 also.All in all a great author.
Please do not talk about this subject. I have an obsession with it. In order for time travel to occur, time must go in circles like a album and then there must be parallel worlds. If anyone has seen the harry potter series with them watching each other in the past. basic law of physics, impossible. In 11/22/63, steve was smart enough not to put a paradox in it, if he had a doing what he was thinking, it would have been a time paradox. Timeline by Michael Crichton, there is a time paradox in it.
