OMG...that was amazing!! Already can't wait to see the next episode. "Jake Epping" is one of my all time favourite King crushes, and so far James Franco has already got me swooning. Looking forward to discussing this show when people have started watching...it started off well so hopefully it's going to continue on that way. Two big thumbs up from me.:thumbs_up:

Hey, but you all get Downton Abbey first :D

Oh yeah. What a treat.
(Honestly, I've never seen an episode. The promotional things were enough (BBC can't call them ads, because they're technically not allowed to run them no matter what). "Yes, sir" "No, sir" "Where's me bloody shotgun, you toffee-nosed *snip*, sir". I'd probably enjoy it if I'd been born a Hooray, though. Glory days, and all that. ;))

I feel like this is going to be one of the best miniseries yet since it's being given so much room to breathe, and also has a definite ending point unlike the TV adaptation of Under the Dome.

I am loving it. Yes there are changes (kinda big changes) but I'll repeat/paraphrase what Steve has said: a film adaptation does not negate the book. The book is still there. This is a differrent medium, if you want the book version, pick up the book. I am enjoying seeing what JJ Abrams and the cast do with it.

HUGE changes, but WTH? It's not the book, it's a movie (ish), and the changes work. The tone is the same, if not the specifics :) I was very pleased to see that James Franco brought his 'A' game; he's usually either wonderful or absolute crap, there is no in between with him. I'll keep watching.
