This thread was worth it for this picture alone. :biggrin2::love_heart:

And DanaJean - keep your mind open. I'm just going to say that I didn't hate them.

At the risk of having to duck rotten tomatoes...
I read the last book in the series and think she's an excellent author. Enjoyed the book and if she decides to write adult stories I'll read them
Also glad there are quality authors writing for younger audiences.
Jackal had read the entire Warrior series (Erin Hunter) b4 she turned 10 and wrote a dozen beautiful 'fan fiction' stories based on it.

Are you a Pod Person??
I literally threw my paperback Twilight book in the trash, it was so awful. Can't remember which one it was - it was a gift and it held zero appeal for me, but I thought I might at least give it a try. That was a bad idea.

Damn what was the movie with the pods in the pool with the seniors?
What's a pod person?
Was reading as parent of child interested in creative writing and found her style vivid and engrossing. Youth weren't just watching they were reading and I like that.
Read SKs nonfiction books for same reason (very helpful). She loves horror and wants to learn from the best so she reads Stephen King now that she is older

A Pod Person is a person who's sprung from one of the horrible pods in Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Each Pod Person is a "twin" to a human, but the Pod People have odd, er, tastes. (Can't say more if you haven't seen the flick - it's a good one and has several incarnations - I recommend the Donald Sutherland/Brooke Adams version.)
-I'm sure that for tweens, especially girls, the plot of the Twilight series is magical and ultra dreamy-romantic - because Bella gets her way and gets the guy in the end...but as far as Meyer being a good writer? Hmmmmm. Still have to disagree with you on that one.

Lol. Think I saw 1 where sis chucked alien brother out of helicopter Jackal has watched them all.
Odd is probably an understatement but definitely human.
Jackal read half the library's junior and youth sections and I was comparing her style to that of others who write for those who are still developing their reading capacity and considered hers to be a lot better than many available to that age group

At 14 she still doesn't have the experience/maturity to fully appreciate the characterisation in SKs novels and often says 'I swear he's British' (ie get to the point)
