I looked and looked but saw no thread for the Twin Peaks television show. Any Peakers out there? I loved this show! Yes, it was weird (it's David Lynch after all) but it sure changed the way television was viewed. It pushed the envelope on what could be shown on night time television (remember when the killer was revealed?).
The main reason I wanted to start this thread is that they are going to be releasing the entire series on bluray and it will also include the film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and there will also be many, many deleted scenes from the film (but they won't be included into the film, just as 'extras'). Peakers have waited for 20 years for this to happen! This will also be the first time that TP:FWWM will be available on bluray. It very well may be the first time any Lynch film has been made available on bluray (outside of the import versions).
It's going to be great to meet up with all the quirky characters from the show again! I can't wait to see the deleted scenes from the film! I was able to follow the crew around in Washington when they were filming the movie and got to see them film a couple of scenes that never made it into the finished film. There was one with Laura, Leland and Laura's mother in the diningroom and Leland is trying to talk Swedish and they are all laughing, having a good time. Another one was with Big Ed and his girlfriend (the owner of the RR Cafe) in his truck at night, talking and kissing while listening to the radio.
Ahhhh, good times......

I've seen every episode! I didn't watch them when they originally aired but streamed them all about three years ago. What a cast of characters! They are all so memorable. Just the other day I was thinking of Peggy Lipton looking so svelte in her waitress uniform dishing up some pie. :smile2: Some of my favorite scenes were the ones with Leo in the wheelchair and pretty much a vegetable. I loved how his wife and her lover (Shelly and Bobby) cared for him-- NOT! (Sick humor but it was so funny!) And don't you just love the music that opens the show? Well, thanks a lot ... you've opened up a Pandora's Box here with this topic and now I need a Twin Peaks fix.

Did you recognize the actor who played Leo's chair lift installer? He was Squiggy (or Lenny, I forget which, he is the short one with dark hair) from LaVerne and Shirley! I met Peggy Lipton (her diner scenes were cut) and she didn't seem too happy that folks were asking for her autograph. I just chalked it up to a bad day. Met Heide the giggling waitress- she was a blast! Met the Log Lady, Nadine, Big Ed, the Creamed Corn Lady and her 'nephew', James and Bobby and Leo and even Killer Bob! Also Sheryl Lee (Laura), Grace Zabriski, Ray Wise and Moira Kelly. Sheryl was so-o incredibly sweet! She deserved an Oscar for her part in this film! I have so many pics from when they were filming, I wish I had known that they were putting out this new boxed set because about ten years ago there was another company that was going to do it and they contacted me about my pics and I even signed a contract with them stating that they could use my pics in their dvd as 'extras' because the official pics that were taken on set by the film company were lost and mine were the only ones they knew about. But, in the end Lynch played his hand and refused to do it.

Which ones do you mean? The ones in trees or the ones that need bras?
Maybe the name "Twin Peaks" (but I think you knew that already!)

Kyle MacLachlan. He was in Showgirls. Dune. Blue Velvet. Don't know about Sex And The City, never saw it.

He was also on that show with the four women who lived across from each other with Teri Hatcher that was a big hit but I forget the name- Desperate Housewives!! Just remembered!
He didn't look too bad in a kilt :victorious: (when he married Charlotte)

This is not him, by the way

That is so cool! It must have been a lot of fun for the actors working on that show -- what with the talented cast and the surreal story line. It's a shame they didn't use your photos... sounds like it was definitely their loss.

I loved Twin Peaks. I watched every episode when they first aired. I bought the dvd boxed set that came out a few years ago and I have the old dvd of Fire Walk With Me so I doubt I'll re-invest in the new blu ray set, but I'm glad to hear they're releasing it. It was definitely one of the most unique shows ever to air. Great cast, great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the show lost its way after they solved the Laura Palmer murder mystery. They didn't seem to have a clear idea of what they wanted to do with the show and people lost interest and it got canceled. But those first 18 episodes still stand as some of the most unique and gripping television ever aired.

Also as a Twin Peaks fan you might want to check out an episode in the fifth season of the show Psych that features a funny homage to Peaks in an episode titled "Dual Spires", and features several of the Peaks cast as guest stars.

Tim- you should at least try to watch the deleted scenes from FWWM- there's about an hour and a half worth of them and they might be worth your while, especially since you said that you liked the show/movie.I'm sure they'll show up on Youtube....They did lose their way after they revealed who the killer was for about 6 episodes (it just got downright silly) but after they brought in the Windom Earle character it got back on track. The series finale is just mind blowing!

I'll probably get the FWWM blu ray at some point in the future when my entertainment expense has more wiggle room than it does now to check out the scenes.

And personally, I never cared much for the whole Windom Earle thing either. It just kind of bored me. David Lynch came back for the great finale but by that time it was too late. But still, I will forever love Twin Peaks. It was one damn fine cup o' joe

I have seen a few episodes, damn fine they were, but the show is too hard to rent over here. I like David Lynch (I am fond of the surreal). Did anyone see his short film series "Rabbits" ? Creepy as hell.

I follow a page on Facebook called "Welcome to Twin Peaks". It's a fun site that has a lot of photos and trivia from the show. Also, they tell what's going on these days with the cast and David Lynch. Anyway, today they posted that Laura Palmer's house from the show is currently for sale in Everett, Washington. It's a little out of my price range, though… the listing price is five hundred fifty thousand dollars!

The owners of that house were paid $5,000 a week for the use of said house while they filmed there. I used to live about 5 miles away from it and would go everyday when they were there filming.
