Are you a green one?

Are you referring to a green dinosaur?

Can someone give me a summary of the comics? (I don’t mind a few minor spoilers)

The story focuses on the Locke Family which consists of Nina, Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode Locke. They move back to their family home in Lovecraft Massachusetts after the murder of their husband/father Rendall. This house is also home to an evil spirit of sorts from another dimension. They learn that their new home has a number of doors that have special keys, and each of this keys gives them an array of powers and abilities. The evil spirit wants to use a special key that unlocks the most important door that will enable it to take over our world.

He was asking me if I was green - because I said I was a dinosaur, since I don't have Netflix yet :apple::frog::biggrin2:

I took no offense, I'm from the good ole USA. I'm not sure if any of my family comes from Canada though.
I knew that (just wasn't sure which state) - thanks for getting the thread back on track - I've never read any of the Locke & Key books but I could get some from our local library.

Speaking of dinosaurs I went to a meeting last night and when I said that we could get Weight Watcher recipe books from the library, right away another person said "you can get recipes on the website too".
So again I felt like a dinosaur i.e. someone who still reads actual books made out of paper, rather than doing everything electronically :facepalm_smiley::facepalm:

I like actual books too, I also have a few on my kindle as well. Locke and Key is the actual first Graphic Novel I've ever owned, or read. I just have the first 2 so far. I'm from Utah.

I hope soon that there will be some kind of update for the show, since according to an interview with one of the showrunners, they will start filming in mid January. The only confirmed cast member so far confirmed to be staying on from the Hulu series is Jackson Robert Scott as Bode. I hope that Andy will get to return to direct the new first episode with IT: Chapter 2 now in Post-Production.

I wonder if they are gonna do the whole story of Locke and Key in just one season, or if they are gonna do more than one season.

The reason why I think its possible that they could do it all in one season is that the Netflix press release says it was approved for a 10 episode series. I also know that the whole story takes place over one year. If they were to take 6 years to do the show, they would have to rewrite the rules of Keyhouse since Jackson will be 16-18 years old by the time they finish it. And the ones that play Tyler and Kinsey would be over 20 years old. As far as i know, Keyhouse only affects kids, not adults.

Is Joe Hill involved in this at all?
(I'm too lazy to go back and reread all the previous posts)

Yes he is involved with the show in more ways than one. He is one of the executive producer of the show. He co-wrote the new pilot with Aron Eli Coliete. For the Hulu scripts, he wrote not only the first episode but the 2nd, and co-wrote the 3rd with C. Robert Cargyle. The first episode for Hulu was directed by Andy Muschietti, it was said when they first announced the show being picked up that Andy wouldn't be able to direct due to his IT: Chapter 2 commitments. I think its possible they thought that maybe they were gonna start production sooner, but now that they are starting in Jan, and IT: Chapter 2 is in post, hopefully Andy can direct the first episode, and maybe others while overseeing IT: Chapter 2's post-production.

I think joe may have something up his sleeve. He says if it goes well at Netflix he will start writing the comics again with the same crew, and it may go to into the future and back like to,world war key, besides they can figure it out, just get a new key like the future key. I am trying to find out if nini lock the mom was na alcoholic before the murders began

I can't wait to see the show, it's going to be interesting to see how they bring the story to life. The one I want to see how they bring it to life is the Head Key. I wonder if they are gonna reuse the sets they used with the hulu pilot, and complete the sets that were started before Hulu pulled the plug.

It's going to be awesome if he writes new story lines. I heard that in a video of Joe Hill around the time they wrapped filming the Hulu Pilot. He also talked about Creepshow.

I wonder if they are gonna reuse the old sets that they built for the hulu series, and finish the ones that were started before the plug was pulled. I also wonder if they are gonna use the same locations they did last time.
I doubt it, the pilot was filmed over 7 years ago and the sets were likely dismantled. Even if they were still around, they are the property of another studio. Besides, the new director and studio will likely have their own vision.

As for the actual locations, the mansion at Hartwood Acres (which was Key House in the pilot) is in my home town, and there have been no plans announced that there will be any local filming in the Pittsburgh area this time around. If shooting begins in January, it's even less likely that it would come back to Pittsburgh, as January is a very difficult month weather-wise.
