You know, I wasn't feeling it when I read that Revival was coming out--maybe Mr. King should write his own book blurbs. I was a bit more intrigued about Revival when I heard him compare it to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in the Rolling Stone interview (awesome interview btw!).
Well, I just started the Audiobook today and I'm only 10 minutes in and I am SUCKED IN BIG TIME! The way he starts out in tone reminds me of Low Men in Yellow Coats and From a Buick 8 in that he goes not for the jugular but right for your soft spot. I care about this little boy all the way down to his little green army men!
Boy can he paint 1962! That was the year I was born but I can still remember that era and those green army guys--my brother had a ton of them and we would go digging in the dirt setting them up for battle! Yes, Mr. King done it again, my friends....he has blown my ever-lovin literary mind and touched my heart at the same time. I'm in love...again.
