You know, I wasn't feeling it when I read that Revival was coming out--maybe Mr. King should write his own book blurbs. I was a bit more intrigued about Revival when I heard him compare it to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in the Rolling Stone interview (awesome interview btw!).

Well, I just started the Audiobook today and I'm only 10 minutes in and I am SUCKED IN BIG TIME! The way he starts out in tone reminds me of Low Men in Yellow Coats and From a Buick 8 in that he goes not for the jugular but right for your soft spot. I care about this little boy all the way down to his little green army men!

Boy can he paint 1962! That was the year I was born but I can still remember that era and those green army guys--my brother had a ton of them and we would go digging in the dirt setting them up for battle! Yes, Mr. King done it again, my friends....he has blown my ever-lovin literary mind and touched my heart at the same time. I'm in love...again.

Who is reading the audiobook Christine62? - I cannot listen to audiobooks - well, I tried once with Desperation but gave up dunno.gif (it was read by Kathy Bates and on a CD but I could never figure out how to get it back to where it left off! - I tried listening in the car but just gave up and took it back to the library)

Something. Happened.

170 pages in and absolutely LOVING it so far! I really like the character of Jamie Morton. And it's so great to see Harlow and Gates Falls again! I know Harlow has been mentioned in several prior King stories, but the only other story I can recall that actually has action there is "Riding the Bullet". Anybody know of any other stories that have scenes in Harlow? Maine Street Horror! I love it! :)

Depends on the book, I think...I hated Desperation and stopped listening after half hour. 11-23-63 is awsome--so is Low Men In Yellow Coats and of course A Buick 8.

This may sound incredibly dumb - but how do you figure out where you left off? (I would have given it more of a chance if I knew this).

My first impression so far as I am only about a little over the first hundred pages in (I am forcing myself to take breaks) is that as I first read a few pages in I could immediately feel a sense of dread coming from the pages. This is not bad, but instead was exactly what I had hoped for. I am gritting my teeth each time I go back to this story because I have no clue as to what is about to happen. Ahheeoww!!! I love Stephen King's ability to start a cold engine and warm it up on just as cold a night. So far, two thumbs up on Revival and I can only see it getting better. I am also considering changing my real name to "sweater nubbins".

"N." and Pet Sematary immediately come to mind....

David Morse is reading Revival and if you want to give it a listen before investing in the audiobook,we have excerpts available. As part of the sk dot com promotion for Revival, we are putting up one audio excerpt a week from now through December. Check it out here

Be still my heart, he just melts my bones when he opens his mouth and speaks. Bod ain't bad either. Hey, I'z old, and I can say whatever I want now.
He was standing right next to me for quite a while when we visited the set of The Langoliers. I didn't get to say anything as they were taping but I share your appreciation of Mr. Morse. And he was in uniform...sigh....

Revival is eleven CDs. Each CD is separated into tracks...like a music CD might have ten songs.

I would listen a bit into a track before turning it off, and write down what CD and track I. Stopped at. (Does that make sense?)

Thank you for the explanation. This is glaringly obvious (I think) in a house but maybe I just don't understand the CD player in my car.

I never use it so when I tried to listen to Desperation on CD spoken by Kathy Bates it was interesting but I did not see any numbers to write down before popping out the CD.

So next time if I do try to use a spoken CD in the car perhaps I should pay more attention, because to me, that would be the best thing to do on a long trip or commute - listen to a book!
