I do not know if this deserves it's own thread, but I am behind. See, I decided to order the custom edition of "Revival" from Cemetery Dance, as I haven't ordered from them before.

So, I haven't read it yet. I actually waited, lol. Cemetery Dance sent me my shipping info today, so hopefully, I will get the book soon. When I do I'm gonna take pictures of the custom cover and post them here.

And then I'm gonna read the book. :)

I bought Revival - oh no, actually I am thinking of Mr. Mercedes - I ran out and bought that one as soon as it came out.

No - actually I got it (Revival) for Christmas 2014 as a gift from my husband. (I am only at the beginning of the book and I put it down for a while). That is not to say it's not a good book - I just went through a spell where I felt like rereading some of his older stuff first.

The cover is reflective, changes color and kind of flashes when moved in the light. Nice effect! Like the flash of a lightning strike. :)

I really want to write about this book, but alas, I must ask for direction at this point.

Last year I submitted all of my thoughts and feelings to the Prepare For Revival site, but they were not published, or at the least, I cannot locate them. I don't know if they got lost in translation (edited out) or what, but I didn't like that they weren't there. The subject matter was sensitive and I took my time with the answers. I will admit, I should have saved a draft of my answers. I wish I did, because I wanted to comment on what I wrote before reading "Revival."

I like this community and thought sharing deeper feelings on such issues was a cool idea, but my thoughts and feelings were shared only to be lost/deleted/excluded/etc. Left me feeling bummed. Like I got tricked or something. I really believed I would be sharing some deep feelings with other fans from this site.

Why do that to fans? What's the point? Were my answers unfitting?

Now, after reading "Revival," I have a lot that I want to talk about, but I wonder if any of it is worth contributing after all this time, and after what happened the last.

The sad thing is, this story really is worth talking about, but the social experiment from last year has me holding on to my real thoughts and feelings for now...for when someone really wants to listen.

I didn't have any experience with the Prepare for Revival site, so don't know what could've happened to your posts. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry you're feeling sad about it. I'm not sure if all of the moderators were involved with that site, but I know FlakeNoir was. Maybe she will have some insight.

A little advice, too late to help in this case, but perhaps not for the next:

Any time you're creating something you want to keep, don't trust it to a medium which you do not own. I am in NO way suggesting anything nefarious about the revival site (which I didn't even KNOW about, shame on me) or our hosts here at SK.com, but housing content on any entity that is not under your control and ownership puts you at risk of losing that content.

There are tons of social networks and the like which have fallen by the wayside. Some of them gave users a chance to retrieve their data; others did not.

I'm really sorry you lost the things you wrote. I hope you get some resolution. And next time, if it's really important, keep a copy for yourself.

If you mentioned real live people's names in your response, it got deleted. If you lumped all of your answers into one category, it might have gotten deleted as we wanted answers for those specific questions individually. There were other factors that would cause a deletion, did you link to other sites? Did you actually respond to other people's responses? We didn't want a give and take of ideas. It was not a message board to discuss with other posters their thoughts and feelings. It was strictly to answer the question so if you responded to others and actually made comments about or to other posters, it got deleted.

Here would be a great place to carry on a conversation about the book.

Yes, we were. (Marsha, Dana Jean, myself and one other.)
