Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop Café - Fannie Flagg. Thanks Doc Creed. for bringing that up.

It's wonderful so far, and I can't stop picturing the movie characters as I read. I don't know if that's testament for the book or movie. I don't like to have seen a movie first.

I'm hoping to find out certain things that were left vague in the film.

I am like that with regards to books and movies too.
When I watched the movie version of The Book Thief, all I could think was "no, that's not how I pictured Liesel at all...or Rudy...".
Once you have a visual depiction given to you in a movie, I think it is very hard to shake that image.

You're welcome, I am glad you're reading it. There are some changes, especially towards the end. Plus, many details are given about Idgie's and Ruth's backstory and you get to see a slew of other characters.

Just digging the hell out of this 1970s Jim Starlin Cosmic Marvel stuff--early appearances of cats like Drax the Destroyer, Mantis, Thanos, and (mm-mmmn) Gamora--looking dynamite in her fishnet body suit, btw. And Starlin's art is just the bee's pajamas...like, so COSMIC! The Warlock comics are so damn trippy...you know, Warlock? He's what's in the pod at the end of Guardians vol. 2. I think we'll call him...Adam. Adam Warlock, cats...with a vampire soul gem in the center of his forehead. Is the gem an Infinity Stone? Stay tuned, true believers...

Finished "I Am Watching You" (by Teresa Driscoll) yesterday. It was a quick read, and I liked how the characters all had stuff going on that wasn't directly related to the main plot.
I've been reading a lot of 'Brit Lit' lately. I've come to fancy it. :)

Started "Disclosure" by Michael Crichton last night. I saw the movie when it first came out, but had never read the book. Good so far.

Dont know much i'm afraid. Know that she started as a poet in the late 90,s but has since written short stories and at least one novel. Havent read any of her output. She is a norwegian and is there seen as rather odd but rather good too.
Thank you. I just finished her short story collection KNOTS and struggled with it a bit. Not sure if it was due to a translation problem, or I just couldn't invest myself in her stories. Yes, they are odd, but not necessarily in a good way.
