Read a book called Hand To Mouth: Living in Bootstrap America. Sounded like a good book, but it just felt off to me. I've never been one of the upper crust (lol), and this writer's style and diction just felt off for someone of the lower income bracket--like someone putting on an act. Did some research when I was done, and yup, there is a lot of doubt about her stories. What a jackass. Poverty porn.

Now I'm reading Christopher Moore's latest, Noir, and giggling through the whole thing. Set in Post WWII San Francisco, full of dames, lugs, and speakeasies. Maybe a few aliens, too. Funny, funny stuff!

Have you read Hillbilly Elegy? I would recommend it, if not.

I took this one out of the library in a large print edition.

His previous book was called A Street Cat Named Bob.

To be honest, I still haven't started it, but I'm hoping it will be a good read.

Freaking DOOMSDAY CLOCK! You know, merging the Watchmen universe with the D.C. Universe proper? Like, THE comic event of the year?

Only...hrrrrmmmmhhh...wish Veidt and Rorschach coulda somehow traveled to the Marvel universe instead.

Oh, and been buying up them old Malibu 'Ultraverse' comics from the fitty cent boxes, or ten for three fifty. Done got about everything they put out, for around thirty bucks.

And got a complete run of D.C.'S old Vigilante series the same way.

I've gone comic gonzo lately.

Wow, I'm SO digging those ol Malibu ULTRAVERSE comics from the 90s. Books like PRIME (hell ayuh), Mantra, Sludge, Ultraforce (oh yeah), The Strangers, Rune...great writing, great stories...the art is kinda hit and miss, but DAMN, I love where writers like Steve Gerber, Mike Barr, Steve Engleheart and Gerard Jones were taking these books. It's a shame Marvel had to buy em out, and essentially kill the whole line.
