I just finished a re-read of Desperation. Had not read it since it came out, so I only very vaguely remembered things. It just is never going to be a favorite of mine.

Guess that's ok, though. Can't love them all. :)
Spent the night at my sister's place last night, and we debated that novel for a while. It's one of her favorites; I'd give it 3 stars at the most.

The Dying Earth by Jack Vance- once a staple of sci-fi and fantasy, now remembered chiefly for being where Dungeons and Dragons got its magic system. I love it; it makes me sad that even in this era where "nerd" culture is so mainstream, few have heard of any book that doesn't have a major film/television adaptation, even the ones that helped define the genre.
