LOL I finished So Cold the River by Koryte and was stuck between Cypress House or Last Words. I picked Last Words, but will likely hit Cypress House in a week or so. I am really liking this guy. His novels are engrossing and he does such a good job of convincing you that his expert really knows what he's talking about, whether it's firefighting, survival skills, law enforcement, film-making, etc. He either does an amazing amount of research or is very, very well versed in a lot of stuff!Finished Koryta's How It Happened and started The Cypress House also by him. Grabbed from the very start. I have not been disappointed by any of his books yet!
Last Words is part of the Mark Novak series . It is stand alone, but will continue in Rise the Dark. Both excellent reads. You can easily go onto The Cypress House and return later to Rise the Dark. Kortya does indeed do his research for each topic.LOL I finished So Cold the River by Koryte and was stuck between Cypress House or Last Words. Thankee, Ms. Spidey. I will see if Rise the Dark is available when I'm done with Last Words. If She wakes-- another good read. Opens ones mind to possibilities of coma patients.Thankee, Ms. Spidey. I will see if Rise the Dark is available when I'm done with Last Words. I think I still have a couple of weeks on my hold of If She Wakes.
Not yet! That one was only available as audio, but I plan to work my way through all that they have for him. Got a few vacay days coming in July, to work on my TBR pile!!If She wakes-- another good read. Opens ones mind to possibilities of coma patients.

cat in a bag Spideyman You both convinced me to read The Cypress House next. Couldn't decide between three books, but you ladies made the choice easy for me. I'm excited to get started!
I am only halfway through The Cypress House. Not much reading time lately. I am liking the story, but I think maybe the tone is getting to me a little. Set in the Great Depression. I don't know what it is, because the story is great. I think that is a sign into how much research he does! He is definitely portraying the gritty, concentrate on today because tomorrow will have it's own set of problems, feel of that era.LOL I finished So Cold the River by Koryte and was stuck between Cypress House or Last Words. Have you read Envy the Night? It is lighter theme. Mystery/ thriller and you will not see the "gottcha moment" coming!
