None of the books on the list were available at my local branch today :( I'm not quite sure what I'm going to read instead. The category is page to screen, so I'm going to see if I have one on my shelves that I can read for this week.

Big screen only or any screen? Because pretty much everything Christie ever wrote has been filmed by now. ;)

"The Delicate Dependency" by Michael Talbot. Centipede press has recently re-released this great vampire novel from the 80s. I'm about halfway through. It is something along the lines of Bram Stoker meets Robert McCammon. One of those rare horror novels that is well written.

I think any screen. When you mentioned Mark Billingham I considered looking for another Thorne book, but the point is to read something you would normally not choose. I do think I'll look for another Christie, as I've read none of hers.

Granted, they are of their time and quite cosy, even bordering on twee these days (Dame Aggie would probably scream if she saw modern crime fiction, especially stuff like Val McDermid puts out), but if crime's your thing she's well worth a read.
For page to screen, I'd second the ones Kurben's already recommended (particularly And Then There Were None, but Murder on the Orient Express is another), but away from that I think you might enjoy The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.

I started Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier after some talk of the author here. I've already read and enjoyed Rebecca and My Cousin Rachel, so I know I'll enjoy Jamaica Inn. So far, so good!
Are you the one who mentioned Frenchman's Creek earlier ? - that one was a gem (in my opinion)

Finally finished The Overlook by Michael Connelly. It was a good book, I was just in a reading slump for a few weeks. Started Gwendy's Button Box this morning. Only read a chapter, but didn't want to put it down! (D*mn you, work, responsibilities, etc.! ;;D ) Checked out The Girl With All the Gifts from the library this evening. Think I remember quite a few positive reviews of this one. danie skimom2 Haunted ??

Christie had some humor too. A qoute from her is "An archaeologist is the best husband a woman can get. The older she gets the more interested he becomes". Also possible options They do it with mirrors (Murder With Mirrors), Witness for the prosecution or 4.50 from Paddington.
