I am taking a bit of a break from Dark Tower, Book VII. I love it, I should have read them as they came out - not really sure why I didn't. But reading them back to back is exhausting at times.
Anyhow, for fun, last week I read "Where'd You Go Bernadette?" It was fun and quirky. I felt a little like I was a case study for Bernadette at times: life in the suburbs and out of my element is slowly killing me. But she's way more smart and brave than I am. If you are in the mood for something quick and light to read - give it a go. I read it in 3 days - very quick read.

I'm trying to read "Ender's Game"...but I'm having a hard time getting thru it. I love sci-fi but it's dragging a bit. I'm hoping it will pick up as I get further along. I swear, reading Mr. King's books compared to other authors is like a Cadillac compared to a Yugo.....hard to find an author who is so damn good at bringing you into a story as Mr. King is.

I'm reading The Lovely Bones, Song of Susannah, Cell, 'Salem's Lot, and Red Dragon.
Welcome! Love ur profile pic!!! Peewee's the BESTEST!! Read all of the books ur reading now. Lovely Bones is awesome! The Lot was my 1st introduction to King, way back when it came out in paperback, years ago! Will always be my most favorite of his novels- I grew up in a small town in PA and I knew all of those people he put in his book- they had different names and didn't live in Maine, but they lived in my town- even had a 'Mable Werts' lady, she went by the name of Mrs. Love.

I could not finish The Lovely Bones, it seemed to drag for too long... Tell me what you think about it after you finish it, should I give it another try or just leave it?

As for Cell, 'Salem's Lot and Red Dragon - I love all of them. I hope you enjoy reading them, too.

SRBO will see this and demand that you give Lovely Bones another go around. All I will say is that it is one of the most uplifting novels I have ever read.

I had to put this one aside because it was strongly suggested that I read, Breaking Twig by Deborah Epperson and I can not put this book down. It's set in the South and to me it's a great read. A little slow at the begininng but then it's snatches you! Over 100 thousand downloads for this tale.

I enjoyed Breaking Twig and I miss the characters. The writing isn't superb but I liked the story.

Pretty good tale.

I started cell about 4 or 5 days ago but for one reason or another, I have not been able to get a good session on it, I've only gotten upto page 40 in fragmented sessions. I am getting the sense that the initial outbreak or "pulse" should be read in one or 2 decent sessions because the impact on me is being lessened by the stop start bursts. I have decided to put it away for a bit and start again another time.

I'm going to start Dr sleep in a minute, and hopefully get more than a few pages read at the beginning.

It's not one of my favorites . . .so I understand where you're coming from.
