Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Font know if anyone ever read those, but I loved those books when I was little. The one about the lady with spiders in her face was a really strange one. There's another about a scarecrow that came to life or something that was as equally weird. The pictures were the best part of it, though.

I wish I still had my little collection of those. :m_sob:

I have these in my classroom for my sixth-graders to read. They're only about $3.50 on Amazon.

A Voice in the Night by William Hope Hodgson one the toes to be found The Anthology Adrift on the Haunted Seas ( The Best Short Stories of William Hope Hodgson) Hodgson was another writer much admired by H P Lovecraft. In addition to his short stories he wrote several supernatural novels the most famous of which is The House on the Borderland written 1908 ( a terrific book ).

A Voice in the Night was the basis for the Toho Studio 1963 film Mantango know here in the United States as Attack of the Mushroom People. Don't let the title put you off , The film is very good good , a sci fi Horror classic .
