I picked up the new 3 cd/2 dvd edition of Heavy Horses. This is a fantastic release. There's quite a bit of repetition on it (a remixed version of the album, the original album and a high resolution version and standard and high def versions a concert) but at $35.00, it's not too pricey for all that you get. There are quite a few unreleased recordings from the era and a complete concert (I think the album Bursting Out was taken from this concert). The newly remastered album sounds fantastic.

Just found out on NPR that Fanny’s back and recording. In the early 70’s I got to see in concert the first rock band consisting entirely of women to release an album on a major label. Was in row three and they were dressed in black witches robes. Ran out the next day and picked up their latest album. Still have it. Gotta love a bunch of old chicks rockin’ out and kickin's ass.

I haven't listened to Heavy Horses much. I've always loved their earlier material. I don't venture much beyond War Child when I get in a mood for Tull. However, I love listening to them live. I might just pick that up.

Both Songs From The Wood and Heavy Horses are excellent. They were released back to back and are similar in style.
