they havent stolen a thing from anyone
You can go believe that, but there are lots of lawsuits with evidence against them. They stole an old Irish folk song when they made Black Mountain Side, and I know they copied some Joan Baez song. I’ve seen people argue that they are still talented regardless if their content is stolen. I personally believe the lawsuits

wolfphoenix check out this band, they’re really cool, The Decemberists
These are their three best songs imo, I’m not a big fan of any alternative bands that came out of the early 2000’s, but these guys are really cool. I like their acoustic folk rock style, theyre like Fleetwood Mac with a hint of Bob Dylan. I learned about them in the first place because my dad is a pretty big fan of them.

Anyways today is both my little siblings birthday (they’re twins), they turn ten today. Even though it’s today my parents gave them their presents yesterday, and i was helping my brother assemble some of the LEGO sets my dad bought him, and I was streaming some music on my Bluetooth speaker and was playing some Frank Zappa songs, and my brother was full on dancing along to some of the songs. I’m only a mild Frank Zappa fan but I defiantly appreciate his work and influence in the progressive rock genre, favorite song by him is My Guitar Wants To Kill Your Mama

Zappa is a musical genius. I don't say that lightly. His son, Dweezil is a shredder as well! Check these out:

swiftdog2.0 the quote button isn’t showing up so I’m just tagging you in this post

I have no clue why, but talking about Zappa made me think of the looney Toons character Speedy Gonzales. You ever just associate music with characters or events that have no correlation between each other and you have no clue why? I totally forgot about Speedy among the other members of the looney tunes cast and Zappa just reminded me of him.

Wonder if this little dude is still deemed culturally appropriate due to the fact that his whole design is a portrait of Mexican stereotypes back when he was first created. Of course times were different then, I wasn’t a huge fan of this little mouse back when I watched looney tunes a lot when I was small and preferred other members of the looney tunes cast. I’m pretty sure my favorite character when I was younger was the tweety bird but now that I’m in the middle of my teenage years I appreciate Daffy Duck’s and Sylvester the cat’s nihilistic humor styles more. Sorry, I went from talking about Frank Zappa to wetting an essay on my favorite member school of a cartoon’s cast.

Wile E. Coyote. Super Genius
I never liked the Roadrunner, I can understand not wanting to be eaten but there’s a fine line between escaping becoming a meal and just being a total *******, the poor coyote was so skinny and just wanted something to eat. Last year I dug through my attic and found my old Tom and Jerry cd collection, and I just spent about three nights watching my favorite old Tom and Jerry cartoons, I used to love Jerry and root for him, but after rewatching it in my teenage years I feel that Jerry is a sociopath and that Tom has justifiable motives behind attempting to eat him. I mean there’s full on episode where Jerry knowingly gets Tom executed via guillotine after framing him for crimes he did not commit. I remember being young and thinking the episode was super funny because I was too young to realize what was actually happening, rewatching it last year made me realize that Tom is just a poor soul who just wants to get rid of the demon that consistently haunts him, I mean, Tom getting his head chopped off is so disgustingly morbid but I watched it as a child and because I didn’t realize what was actually happening I just thought it was funny.

I seem to recall there being an episode where Tom dies of a heart attack but he isn’t allowed into Heaven because no one would sign the contract saying that he was a good soul in life, he literally pleads with Jerry to please sign the contract so he can finally be at rest, the little psychopath toys with him and at the end of the episode you literally see Tom’s soul boil in the pits of hell.

Makes me question what we show our children, morbid sideplots aside rewatching my old Tom and Jerry cds last year was a fun nostalgia trip and I’m glad I still own those cds.

But still, what the **** were the Tom and Jerry episode writers on? These cartoons are from the 40’s and 50’s so I wonder where they got such morbid ideas from

Who approved it to be a kids cartoon though? Satan himself? Likely, Tom is just a poor tortured soul.
