David Lee Roth is back everyone!

I saw footage of Dave's "performance" in Vegas. It was an assault on my eardrums.

What a way to ruin your legacy, Dave. A cheesy, awful sounding parody of your former greatness complete with obvious use of backing vocal tracks from the studio recordings

Dave was always a lazy singer but at least he used to be in key (most of the time). He could get away with average vocals live due to his paralleled showmanship. Now he's an outright joke. Just as bad, or worse, than his "vocals" on the last VH tour. Hang 'em up, Dave. Don't ruin classic VH for the kids.

I really hop the rumors of EVH being gravely ill aren't true. The VH brothers need to settle their differences with Sammy before it's too late.

Gotta disagree with you about Sammy, I like Sammy, Montrose is great, but Diamond Dave is Van Halen, I don't care how many copies 5150 sold, 1984 sold more. Plus, Diamond Dave solo stuff is better than most Van Hagar. The thing is, it's a ****ty phone recording of a show, you can't exactly call it a live album, likely Dave sounds better live. Besides, Dave is actually singing in key for most of the songs, he's just doing weird things to the melody. Sammy doesn't sound the same as he did in the 80's either, vocals change, if you want Dave to sound like he did on 1984, put on 1984. Dave has never been the best live singer, his lyrics and 'attitude' (I hate that word but don't know something better to describe it) was part of his appeal. What gets me is the stories he tells in between songs, hahahah. The kids aren't listening to Van Halan, I can guarantee that as well. I hope Eddie is good as well, wish him the best! Hopefully the classic Van Halen band can go on tour soon!

I got to see them in concert. I was part of a mob that destroyed a car. Accidentally.

Agree to disagree.

Sammy was, and always will be, the better singer. Dave was the better performer sure but he's not fit to carry Sammy's vocal mic. Sam's lost a little bit of high range but not much. He still sings very well. Especially for a guy who's 72. Dave? Yuck!

I've heard stuff off of the last VH studio album. Garbage. Had friends that went to see them on the last tour. They all wanted their money back. Add to that the BS with Michael Anthony. VH brothers are nuts. I'll go see Sammy sing VH songs with The Circle over the current DLR version of VH any day. Heck, I'd even pay to see them tour with Gary Cherone (as long as they didn't do songs from the VH III album). Gary is a better singer than both Sammy and Dave. and can do songs from both eras with ease.

Now if they were smart, they'd do a tour with both Sammy and Dave. One set with DLR. One with Sammy. Swap who goes on first each night. Best of Both Worlds (see what I did there?)

Won't happen because, as I've said, the VH brothers are nuts. If they were to make a Spinal Tap II, Van Halen would be the band starring in the movie. Very sad.

The problem with Sammy is that most of the fans want to hear the classics, like Ain't Talkin 'Bout Love, Panama, Jump, etc. The Dave tunes, no one really wants to hear Sammy tunes at a Van Halen show. Dave probably couldn't sing any Sammy songs, but then again, I've heard Sammy sing Panama, hell NO! Its a common argument, Dave couldn't sing the Sammy songs, well Sammy couldn't sing the Dave songs either. I do wish Michael Anthony was in the band though. The last VH album still has some good stuff on it, what was the last great song Sammy released? As for current VH vs The Circle, come on, at least VH has VH, hahaha!

The last VH tour with Dave was a financial and critical disaster. People would want to hear Dave tunes if Dave could still sing the Dave tunes. Dave can't sing the Dave tunes anymore.

BigFoot from the last Chickenfoot album is what modern VH should sound like.

I doubt the last VH tour was a critical disaster, they played stadiums. Chickenfoot is actually pretty good, but I was meaning more Sammy solo. So I guess you wont be checking out Dave when he goes on tour? hahahah
