When my children were little, I loved to buy books. So many beautiful books. And I was very diverse in what I bought them. Fun and silly and beautiful art. And about other cultures and religions and different ideas.

One book I bought them was Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.

Sadako was a child who lived in Japan and developed leukemia after the Atomic bomb was dropped. While she was ill, a friend encouraged her to fold a thousand paper cranes as doing so would give you your wish.

"Traditionally, it was believed that if one folded 1000 origami cranes, one's wish would come true. It has also become a symbol of hope and healing during challenging times. As a result, it has become popular to fold 1000 cranes (in Japanese, called “senbazuru”).And her wish was to live. So, she started folding cranes. "

I then folded a thousand paper cranes which I hung from strings (about 5 per string) from our dining room ceiling. They were there for a year and I still have them in a shadow box.

I have fold a thousand paper cranes for two other people. One was my mother; the other was Marsha.

♥ You made me blub..

I would do this. I would actually paint this on my house. But I would never leave my tools out.

I have a garden area with raised railroad tie beds that had flowers and veggies in it. I have only one planted this year with flower bulbs that finally bloomed and look fantastic, but the area needs something more. At one time, I had painted big flowers on the fence next to the raised beds. (With this stain, they will be covered up) . But, I'm actually thinking about painting this on my fence:

I like it.

Or you can paint this on the fence... :)

I absolutely love mine. I have it hung where I can see it while I'm working at my office at home in Maine.

Thanks.

I just want everyone to remember to be silly. whimsical. creative. Especially with paint. It's only paint. It can be covered up. It can change.

I would love for all of you to have one brief moment in your life where you had a totally free spark of WOW inspiration, even if it only lasts a hot minute before you are afraid.

With me and my impulsive inspirations, it's usually my neighbors who are afraid.

Made alot of phone calls. Let my heart have emotion. Getting together some things for a 7 year boy whose mom will have custody after not seeing him for 4 years. The parents devoriced and the father had custody as the mom was homeless. The dad was picked up on drug usage and now the mom was granted custody. So helping to pull together afew things for him. Sad situation.
Working on a puzzle and had several letters and cards I had to get together and mail.

I had a customer come into the home improvement center last evening. She couldn’t get her gas mower working and was looking for either an inexpensive push rotary mower or lightweight battery one as she always had to take the mower into the basement per her landlord’s orders. She said she can’t pull the cord with her bad shoulder and her teenage daughter was a useless human being. The lightest we had in battery was 85 pounds and she wouldn’t be happy with a push rotary one as she often let the grass get too high. 85 pounds was too heavy for her. I asked her if she could have a neighbor cut the lawn for her when it got too high and use a rotary one the other times. She said she had a screaming meltdown trying to get her gas mower started and now all the neighbors are afraid of her and avoid her. She started crying and told me her husband recently passed away. I felt so bad for her. I called around to other places that had mowers. I finally found one that was a 40 volt battery, was made of composite material, only weighed 50 pounds and was a hundred dollars less than she was expecting to pay. She said she that would be perfect, thanked me for all my help (probably spent a half hour with her) and took off to the other store to go purchase it.
