Positive thoughts sent-- think Thanksgiving and Christmas and the magic that will bring.

I'm cautiously optimistic regarding Christmas. I have hand surgery on November 27 but am hoping to either get some gifts or decorations done beforehand or that it won't be as bad as I fear and I can do something after the stitches are out.

I've been choosing books by Stephen King to give my sons;
Picking those I thought they'd like (and not my favorite ones).
I chose Desperation for the youngest one to read
Due to how things fall apart with such amazing speed.

From the book's first paragraph you know that something's wrong;
Feel that even worse is gonna happen before long...
And, when it just goes down hill from there, it happens fast
Guaranteeing that my son's attention span will last.

Just Past Sunset for the eldest 'cause he takes the train
And I thought this great collection wouldn't be a strain
During the commuter rush - when reading time is short.
Now I'm waiting anxiously to hear their book report.

Are my offspring Stephen King fans like their mother is?
If I've raised them properly, they'll both be fans of his.
If I've chosen wisely they'll be converts to the King;
Fellow Constant Readers but, if not... It's gonna sting.

You should try giving them Pet Semetary, any parent/son will bond over that book! :)

We sold the property on the lake over the weekend. Nobody has time to go up anymore and we discovered the trailer had developed structural damage and the plumbing was shot. So we sold it ‘as is’ and the buyer (people next door) are going to tear it down and add the property to their own deed. Got enough to pay half the bill for the youngest’s next semester at college. We took what we wanted and left the rest. We stopped at the world famous Pocono Cheesecake Factory on the way home and bought a large cheesecake that had 2 slices of 8 of their most popular varieties. Each slice adds a pound to your weight... but it is soooo good. It better be for $42.

This Friday we’re going to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra with some family. A two hour drive and I was voted the designated driver. I’d rather just stay at home and watch Hallmark Christmas movies, but the wife wears the pants in the family (I’ve seen the job and want no part of it) so I have no choice but to go. :(

Thankful for funds in finances for daughter's college tuition. Relax, enjoy the musical and feel the magic of the season.
Have you seen the new commercial for use of a dremel? Attachment for cleaning counters, stoves, tile etc.

Thanks. New attachment for a dremel? Oh, great... now I've got to go out and buy something new. :)

Oooooohhhh, I think I know what to put on my Christmas list! Might buy one for myself for AZ as I'm thinking of painting my kitchen cabinets there and they need a good scrub down before painting. Would make the job easier and save wear and tear on my hands.
I've painted my own kitchen units and put on new handles a couple of times over the years and done several kitchens for other people, always comes up a treat, revitalizes the kitchen completely and gives it a new lease of life, not to mention saving a fair bit of cash.

The cabinets I have now are a cherry finish and with a galley kitchen with no windows, is too dark for my taste. Have been looking into using what they call chalk paint here--not sure if that's the same thing where you are. Sounds like a much easier process as I wouldn't have to sand down the finish on the cabinets and has a relatively short cure time.

You can get one of those fake windows to remind you of what you're missing. :)
