Karen had to take Kaden to the bone doctor today in Philly.
They took x-rays of his chest bone.
He will have to wear a brace for about 4to5 years. The brace will cost about $1500. Hopefully Karen's insurance will cover it.

The woman that was shamed needs to take all the wet, dirty towels from her gym and systematically pop Mathers in the face with them while onlookers chant "shame, shame, shame" Game of Thrones style.
Spent the afternoon at the dentist. You know, music sounds absolutely wonderful while you're on nitrous. Almost makes the Novocaine shot worth it. Almost.
Trying to figure out what to do about a review that is due tomorrow. The book was a 'meh' romance (bikers, swearing bee, etc.)...until it came to a screeching halt with one of the most gawdawful sex scenes I have ever had the misfortune to read. Ghastly and unintentionally hilarious. So, so bad. I'm hired to review honestly, but it would be cruel to say anything like what I'm thinking. Add to the mix, I've known the author for years. My head hurts thinking about this.

Yeah, I was thinking if it was just a galley or early draft you could be forceful but kind, but what can you say when the horse has left the barn?

Approach your publisher stating that since you have known this author over a period of years, you feel being judgmental of this particular book would not be in the best interest for the book or your friendship with said author. He could take the hint and let you out of the review.
I've sent him an email to that effect. I'll let you know what happens.
Yup. This is one they sent me after pub date. That doesn't happen a lot--usually I get them well in advance of release. Still, most are at final draft, and I've yet to communicate with one that is willing to make changes at that late date (even one that had the time line so screwed up--probably because of incomplete changes between drafts--that the second act was almost incomprehensible). It's too bad--it might save the authors a bit of embarrassment upon publication.
