What Did You Do Today? What are you doing today?

Thanks! I can't believe she's already 17

We both have 17 year old daughters? What have we done that was so bad as to deserve that? I also have a 17 year old semi-boarder who stays with us several times a week. Two days ago this brilliant girl locked her keys in her car where she works and we had to get her other set of keys from her grandmother’s house about an hour away. We finally got back home about 1 am. Yesterday, after they returned home from the shore she left her drivers side door open on her car. I noticed it about midnight. It was probably open for 10 hours. I wonder if her battery is dead… and when I’ll get a phone call today about what to do.

So far today all I've managed to do is go out for lunch with a good friend. Then I had to head back home as I knew a courier was coming to drop off our airline tickets

Now that that has happened I guess I should get out there and buy a nice big watermelon or perhaps some fresh strawberries - tis the season for the fresh fruit!

We had a really fun afternoon and evening.....we drove down to Winston Salem for shopping, food, and mani/pedis......didn't get home until after 11 last night.

In my case, I keep wondering when I'm getting the payback for all the things I did as a teenager. I've said from the beginning that I did not get the child I deverved, I got the one I can handle.
She definitely is my daughter, though........clumsy and all

I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every minute of being her Mom, with the exception of an episode in 7th grade when she decided to experiment with cutting. That wasn't a good time. Thankfully, it didn't last long.

I can't believe the time has gone by so quickly.......just yesterday, she was 5 and I was holding her hand while she skipped through a pile of dried leaves in the street, singing about it being a lovely day.......

Today she's flying to Arizona with her dad for three weeks.......I'm not sure I'm ready for this.

......I'm going to spend the next three weekends at the coast with the BF so I won't be staring at the walls of this house the entire time.

You will adjust slowly and when she DOES call home or come by to see you it will be like a cool breeze in piedmont NC in July...

Very nice and welcome, but gone too quickly...

On the bright side when she turns about 23 or 24 you will become much smarter to her for some reason...
