I don't think anything can ever top Godfather II. Hell, there are moments where I think it surpasses the original. The Road Warrior for sure is one of the best. I like Aliens and Terminator 2, but I don't hold them in the high regard as most people. Does Silence of the Lambs count? I'm not sure as it never really references Manhunter at all, even though it features some of the same characters. Spiderman 2: I love Alfred Molina's Doc Oc.

Worst sequels? My God, there's just too many to choose from.

Best:

Star Trek sequels: The Wrath of Khan and First Contact. First Contact (which is my favorite Trek movie of all time) arguably isn't a sequel, being the first fully TNG movie, but doggone it, it's in the string of ST movies, and Generations preceded it.

Aliens. Enjoyed it much more than the original, which was still a darn good movie. Gripping action without CG. Cameron at his best.

I'm liking the Avengers universe of movies. One sequel in that crowd can entertain me as much as another.

Terminator 2. It did not surpass the original, but it was worthy.

Billy Jack. It doesn't hold up well as a movie, can't even recommend it, but it was a sequel to a steaming pile of fetid film stock called The Born Losers.

Worst: This is tough for me because I'm not much of a sequel watcher. It usually either takes my investment in the series or good reviews. Let me ponder....

Okay, Jurassic Park: The Lost World. Thanks for phoning it in, Steve. And I don't really mean that.

By the time the original Superman and Batman series got to their number 3s, they were getting to be number twos.

Wow - I had no idea that Billy Jack was a sequel. For the record I think it's a terrible movie, but who doesn't love that "...and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it" scene? I also have a weak spot for the One Tin Soldier song...

Jurassic Park sequels: no kidding. Just uuugh.
