The Twilight Zone
Some time ago I found myself wishing for him to write a story inspired by the whole Woody Allen twitter malarkey. I suspect he was shocked at how the whole world ( or so it seemed anyway) turned on him in an instant over a clumsy 140 odd characters statement. I'm sure he would have a lot of interesting thoughts on the subject and I think there's definitely enough there to make one hell of a scary story. With the Stephen King twist to it obviously.

I would like a werewolf story. I am sure he could do better than cycle of the werewolf. Set in our society of course and a long cosy story. I also would like a story about a group of kids that faces something. It doesn't have to be a monster, anything because he is so terrible good at describing kids and their thoughts and actions. And why not something about a tribe of witches that survived into our age. Both black and white magic of course. And some poor bast**d that comes in between them. But i have complete faith in King. He will give us what we crave. Soon Mr. Mercedes is here.. Yum!

How about a story about a vampire....a vampire that falls in love with a human woman..but still has better hair than she does.....and there are werewolves.....tall, handsome, ripped werewolves who also have really awesome hair styles...and...and...the werewolves hate the vampires....but one werewolf loves the same human woman that one of the vampires loves...and...it all takes place in the Pacific Northwestern United States..and the vampires and werewolves are all somewhat brooding and their hair sparkles...what a cool story that would be.....and now I must purge....:)

It would be kind of biased tho. We'd never hear about the time where he made Marsha twerk with Miley Cyrus while he played his guitar or the time that he took her out into the middle of the mighty Maine woods before he wrote The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon and left her there with nothing but a transistor radio and yelled "It's for research purposes! Now find your way out!'.
...well, then there was the whole "sit in your car and let the rabid dog try to get to you" learning curve...

before i reveal my 'wishlist' of topics, i must say:

a) i would read anything he wrote about, and not complain... and,

b) i really like the 'character catch-up' idea, and the 'end-of-the-rainbow' idea is awesome.

here are the three topics i came up with:

1) i've always been a comic book guy, and i would love to read his take on super heroes...
it could be prose or comic book format, and using pre-established characters (DC, Marvel, etc)
or his own creations, as long as it was a capes & super-powers type story; while i enjoy
the deconstructionist style (Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns, Brat Pack) and think he could hit
that out of the park, any super hero tale would be great.

2) i think a sister story to Locke & Key would be cool, set in that universe with those characters
& the mythos... sequel, prequel, whatever

3) some 15-20 years ago, i started reading the DT series... and only made it through III and part
of IV; life just got in the way. last week (5/19) i started all over again with a plan to read the
entire series and all connected novels & short stories. i finished Gunslinger on the 26th, and started
Drawing of the Three on the 27th, and the prominent thought in my mind is PREQUEL. a history
revolving around Steven Deschain and a fleshed out 'world moving on' story; Cort's background;
back to Arthur of Eld, even.

Promoting controlled chaos in a world of control freaks is a really interesting idea!

Regarding a prequel to the Gunslinger. That tale already exists. Perhaps not exactly what you had in mind but still with Roland in the main part. It is called "The little Sisters of Eluria" and is about 80 pages long. You find it in the collection Everythings Eventual.

umm, my goal is a little loftier...
i'm familiar with LSoE, and i was thinking more of a prequel to the SERIES, not just Gunslinger...

yar... somewhere in the neighborhood of 850 - 1000 pages would do just fine, if it please ya:victorious:

I'll love it. We just have to ask miss Mod to pass along the idea to Stephen. =D
