I am reading Needful Things right now and i'm at the part where

Ace Merill is on a mission to pick up the car for Leland Gaunt. anyway he notices some Graffiti on the side of the building that says " Yog-Sothoth Rules" and then Ace says thinking about it creeps him out. So i was just wondering who or whatYog-Sothoth is. It sounds familar to me but i just can't place it.

Yog Sothoth is a character from H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulu Mythos.

"They walk serene and primal, undimensioned and to us unseen. Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod earth's fields and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread.

Excerpt from the Necronomicon, as recorded in H.P. Lovecraft's tale, "The Dunwich Horror."
