I just love this book! As with so many SK books, it crawls right under your skin and stays with you.

I can't help but wonder what happened to poor little Ellie?! What do you guys think?
This is my favorite Stephen King novel.

I often wondered, with her precognition, if she followed in the steps of Danny Torrance who became a hospice nurse. Her dad was a doctor so maybe she did. I also wondered if
she ever learned what truly happened to Jud Crandall and her family. I hope not. To me Ellie was the novel's grace note. The book was a tragedy and she was the only one who escaped. Did Pascow come to her and explain what happened in the way he did in her childhood? Maybe like Hamlet says to Horatio in the final act..."absent thee from felicity awhile, and in this harsh world, draw thy breath in pain to tell my story."
The only advantage for her to know this would be if she could return to Ludlow and stop the curse of the Micmac burial ground. Something for us to wonder about...

It would be nice to think that she could have stopped the curse. She escaped but in my mind only Physically. She was already having those dreams that should could not quite remember but she knew something bad was going to happen...I wonder if she lost her mind after all that.....

Therapy. Years and years of therapy.
Yeah, I guess for losing her family at such a young age but Ellie never knew about Jud's dark secret and the effects it had on Louis, etc.
Pascow did come to her in a dream but I don't think she pieced it together the way Rachel did. I think she probably forgot it as she got older. She'd definitely need therapy to be raised by Irwin Goldman, lol...although his animosity was only for Louis, of course.

Would like to ask King this, actually. I know it's nowhere near the source material, but according to the second movie there were rumors of her going crazy, and I think killing her grandparents

Yes it's a question I would love to ask him too, I know it is good to not always have questions answered, but I loved the premise of Dr Sleep and following Danny as an adult, would love to see similar following Ellie :)

I like your scenario. It's as close as we get to a happy ending.
