I know he gets a bus towards New York and hits the bottle - but there are intriguing possibilities to what happens next. When Barlow dies, is he released from the darkness or still unclean. Can he forgive himself, can he find his way back to God/the church he loved? Does he rise from his failure, or spend his life in a drunken haze. Does he go back? after the fire? to face the new evil? Track down Marsten....

interestingly enough king chose not to answer these questions in this book, but you might find the answers if you poke around some of his other works. keep reading, there's plenty to discover in the wide world of stephen king.

Welcome! Father Callahan appears elsewhere in the SK universe after the happenings of 'Salem's Lot. Keep reading.

Wait, where? I've read the majority of his books up to the present and I don't recall seeing Father Callahan appear again in other books. I know SK likes to have characters from one book appear in other book but I really don't recall Father Callahan popping up again.

If I tell you, you won't have the joy when you do see him again. One hint: there are other worlds than these.

Well,
I'm currently up to book 4. I like the Dark Tower series, but for some reason it's hard me to get motivated to read it steadily. A lot of SK's other novels I can't put down and just want to keep reading. But, again I do like the DT series and the story, but I don't know why I'm having such a hard time getting "hooked" on it like I do with most other SK books.

Book 4 was hard for me to get into the first time, too. I didn't really like going back into Roland's past (which takes up 5/6 of this book). I just wanted to get on with the journey. But, I appreciated it much more after a re-read a couple of years later.

He is wonderful in a couple of other books. I love the Pere.
