I did not start in movie for loving horror genre, i started in children's horror series

Anyone remember the cartoon "Courage the Cowardly Dog" at cartoon network?
That cartoon has a lot of scenes that scares me to death when i was a child

Yes!! I recently went to Bali. And courage played late at night while I was there. I had never really watched it before. And as a 23yr old it scared me a bit!!! That was full on!!

I was VERY sheltered from horror movies and scary TV shows as a child. My mother is too afraid to watch them, so the first real horror movie I saw was at a friend's sleepover party.
I was probably about 11 years old and I was absolutely terrified.
Especially by the ending scene.

The movie was Carrie.

I haven't watched the birds. unfortunately I haven't watched a lot of Alfred Hitchcock. But I do endeavour to watch more!!!!!!

I'm not a big fan of Hitchcock. I think there used to be a weekly series, which I don't think I ever watched. Just a few movies.

I introduced my son to Bunnicula, the vampire rabbit. (They knew he was a vampire because he sucked all the orange out of the carrots. And then, I bought some parsnips. Lol)

...my Dad was a faithful viewer of the original Twilight Zone....so it was probably one of those episodes that did it....

I have very vague memories of watching this occasionally.

Poltergeist, because as a kid I was mesmerized by the cunning of the story. What a cheerful, sunny neighborhood...wait, what is this strange phenomena happening in this lady's kitchen? Hmmm, I'm intrigued.
Cut to me in bed that night terrified that the tree outside was going to eat me and afraid to get out of bed because of the clown under the bed. I was about 8 years old.

Every time I looked in the mirror after seeing that movie, I imagined the guy pulling his face off. It was horrifying.
A couple years ago, I rewatched and it was so fake it was hilarious. All that time I was afraid for nothing!

It wasn't the first I watched, but when we got our first video recorder we rented The Exorcist almost every weekend. I loved it, weird thing is I must have only been about 13, don't know why they let us rent it. Went to see it at the pictures about 10 years ago, when they lifted the ban. Still loved it, but it was ruined by all the teenagers laughing all the way through it.

Wow, laughing? That's an odd response. Sometimes we laugh at what scares us, I suppose. I didn't see it until I was in my 20s.
