So, I've been putting off reading the DT series, years ago I just decided it wasn't my thing. Then this summer I decided I was going to get all of the books and make myself read it. I kept trying to read the Gunslinger and I just couldn't get through it. I finally did over the weekend and am on the second book.

OMG!! I love it!! I can't read it fast enough. I can't put into words how much I am loving this journey. I just wish it hadn't taken me so long to finally get into it.

Welcome to the Board!

Your experience is shared by many--getting past the first book is a common complaint but once you're onto the second it really takes off. Better late than never, though. :smile2: Let us know what you think of the next books when you get to those.

So, I've been putting off reading the DT series, years ago I just decided it wasn't my thing.

I kind of did the same thing; put it off because fantasy wasn't my thing. But I was caught up on everything else SK had written; this was about 1993. So I gave it a try. I LOVED the first one, and was actually a little disappointed in #2 bringing in different elements; it felt like it "cheapened" the whole western thing. I got over that, though!
