This is my fave SK book....its got all the best elements. A premise no-one in the world could sell other than Sai King...its got a lil gore..intrigue....but lets say you were part of Troop D...in the real world, would you have kept the Buick and all its antics, a secret? Bearing in mind it was not only possibly an entity itself...but could have been giving off radiation...other-worldly illness...anything....

I guess some would want to put it through that car crushing machine at the wreckers. But I am glad they hung on to it. It was like their own little science experiment. It was a lot more menacing than the portal to another time in 11/22/63 - it was scary - the thought of an alien world where you would probably die if you got sucked into it.
I understand that Steve spent some time with a bunch of cops to get the feel for this book and do some research. I think that's neat - I like cops and used to work for them about 20 years ago. Overall another great read, I thought!

I've got an uncle...probably ought not to say where he lives...the bumblebees are watching...anyway he was a cop for years retired now and he's a character...Uncle Bonehead...now there's a funny nickname. But we'll be b.s.-ing and he'll start telling me a cop-story...but he won't finish...he'll give me one of those Forest, Forest Gump that's all I'm going to say about that matter...and leave me hanging. Feel like shaking it out of him. I hope one day to get the whole story on a few of the stories he won't finish. So yeah...it is curious that Troop D kept the secret and then again it is not as I've seen something like that firsthand. :)

What Would You Have Done?

Run screaming. I probably need to read this again... I'm sure there was a good reason why people didn't run screaming, but anything supernatural to that degree in real life would unsettle me pretty bad.
