Back when this was originally released, this great song was omitted from the US version. It used to drive me nuts in the 70s when the US record companies would rearrange the order of the songs and omit some of the songs from the UK versions. I read that the US record company thought this song was "too English." What the hell does that mean? ;-D How could they leave this off of This Years Model?

That's record companies for you, only interested in maximising their profit!
No thought for the artist or the music, just the almighty dollar. I would guess that "too English" refers to the fact that the song is about the London Borough of Chelsea.

This Tom Petty song, written when he was in dispute with his own record company, sums the industry up perfectly....

George Michael had a hit with 'Freedom' this was due to an row with his record company. note George Michael does not appear in this video and i think it has some talk in the video about the leather jacket, the jukebox and guitar that we all remeber from 'Faith'. The people who appear in the video are all supermodels.

You've been around GNTLGNT too long. :)

Here is Jeff Beck and Imelda May doing a cover of "How High The Moon?" by Les Paul and Mary Ford.
Has anyone seen this gig? It was a tribute to Les Paul in the same Jazz club that Les played in almost every week until his death. It was brilliant, Imelda May is great vocalist and Jeff Beck is a genious. It's called Jeff Beck's Rock & Roll Party.

^ I like some guitar signal processing (after all, that's kinda the basis of electric guitars), but I do not care for a voice run through an Eventide Harmonizer. Would have preferred Gwen Stefani singing clean...she's the epitome of cool. She's a judge on NBC's "The Voice" next season, and I think she might be performing live on tonight's episode.

Jeff Beck is legendary because he was in the right place at the right time...now overshadowed by bedroom axeslingers everywhere.

Nah, Gwen is mostly a pop/rap singer, usually singing about bling, parties or guys. She was good in No Doubt, good rock singing in "Just a Girl". Imelda is a folk, blues and jazz singer so is a better suited for Mary Ford covers. Just my opinion. As for Jeff Beck....I guess you're not fan?....Or you're a big Ronnie Wood fan? :) Not many bedroom players can play like that (the Les Paul gig), sure some can learn how to 'speed tap' through scales but he proves his worth in that gig by playing like Les Paul, and he learnt that by jamming with Les. You don't get to jam with Les Paul if you're any old schmuck.
