Stephen King has got to be my ultimate favourite Author. I don't read much, if at all but when I do, it's his Novels.

The first book I ever read by Stephen King was Cujo. I was around 10 or 11, I'm gonna guess 11. My mother had belonged to the Double Day Book Club back in the 70's and she needed one more book to pick so she had me pick one.

I ran my eyes across this tiny little square image of a Saint Bernard's nose and it was titled Cujo. Needless to say, that's the one I picked and I read that book from cover to cover and even did it for a book report in school. I got a B on it by the way!

So if you can probably guess, I've just shown my age. I'm 51 today.

Since then, I've been enthralled with Stephen King. I moved on to more books and and watched the movies as they came rolling out. Really looking forward to the Dark Tower!

When I was around 16 or 17 Pet Semetary was rolling off the assembly line, hot off the presses, and I remember hearing that he would be at our Mall signing autographs for his "new" novel. You guess it, I was first in line along with my best friend at the time, we had our picture in the paper with him. I have yet to find the microfiche of this event. I've tried scouting the public library but cannot, for the life of me, remember the exact date. Nor can I remember the exact year.

I have since lost the Pet Semetary Hardcover that was signed, too many changes in my life, so I've lost a lot of things of value. But I'll always cherish those memories.

Hi, my name is Donna, I'm originally from New Hampshire but now reside in Australia. I probably won't frequent the forum much, Im not much of a forum user but I just had to poke my head in here. Perhaps I'll poke again from time to time but otherwise, you'll find me reading his books or re-watching some of his classic movies, like Firestarter or The Dead Zone.

Cheers!

Welcome AussieDee!

I will tag Stephen's personal assistant and she may be able to look through some records to give you the exact date of this signing, which you can then find your picture. What state was this mall in? Name of mall? As much detail information you can give would help. Month? year? I'm assuming it's the year Pet Semetary came out.

OMG! Are you serious?
My heart is thumping pretty hard right now, that would be so awesome!

Ok, from what I can remember, he was in Nashua for some political thing at the time. He came to the Nashua Mall in the book store in side. I can't remember the name of the bookstore but I can remember it was on the right hand side of the mall. It was relatively small I think and he signed the copies right near the entrance to the book store.

He was there signing copies of the hardback of Pet Semetary. It was me and my best friend Lisa that were first in line. I can't remember if we were both wearing purple sweatshirts with Boston written across them. The sweatshirts had no sleeves. Although I'm not sure if the newspaper was pure black/white then.

She might not be able to give you any information, and if she can, you will have to look for the picture.

I have a subscription to Newspapers.com so I will try to plug in this information and see if I can find anything.

I live in Australia now so physically researching is out of the question. Not sure if microfiche is now on digital or not. I think I had tried searching probably in the late 90's but couldn't remember much of anything. I think the name of the store was the Paperback Bookstore in the Nashua Mall, New Hampshire.

A date would be very helpful! So much appreciated!
(watching Stand by Me right now) ;)

Cheers Dana, it's my partner's daughter's name. ;) Easy enough to remember. LOL
I'll try to stick around. I work for Apple as a technical advisor so I'm always on the computer. I'll load this site onto my work computer and when I'm waiting for a call, I'll look around more. :D

Just also found an old video of the Mall in Nashua, NH that he was at and managed to screen grab the bookstore, however, can't see the name of the store. But I think it was called Paperback Booksmith.

Right there just under that banner was where he was set up to sign books and it was full of his Pet Semetary ones. Wow this just brings back huge memories for me.

OMG! This is so awesome! What was the date?? That so looks familiar but we were the first one's there that day. That looks like it's night time. I was the first person to get the first autograph which is why we ended up in the paper. I don't remember any camera people there at all unless they had come later on after we had left.
