I'm lookin for the old-timers at the bullshit table at the back of Rose's diner. I've read nearly all of his books (many more than once)--I think I have six books left and then tracking down his short stories.

Anyway, I've noticed some new developments in the newer books that make me reconsider the other works. Namely The Outsider with The Darker Half and The Institute with The Dead Zone. I know King loves to connect his stories, but these two sets seem to relate to each other but don't seem referential the way the ones connected by the tower or turtle are.

Is it best to ask those questions here, under the novels they are about, or is there a secret bullshit table? I would reference the gas station that Stuart was at when Captain Trips ran into it, but I don't remember the name!

Also, I just saw that the message board is closing! I just finally got on here, looking forward to conversations with people who have read what I have and it is closing!

I'm working on an English PhD and no one has read King. Too popular, too pulp. Trash, as I think King's mother would refer to it as. I'm hoping to one day get to teach a class on him or on his books paired with the Victorian Gothics that inspired them.

Welcome to the message board.

There is an older thread named Connections in the General Discussion & Questions section of the Novels forum, you could add to discussion there. As for the bullsh*t table, you'd likely find one in almost any thread in the Chattery Teeth forum. :biggrin2: (though the Old Timers may often be speaking of things outside of the SK universe)

Hi and welcome.
One of our members developed an alternate meeting place for when the SKMB is closed, and when it's final day arrives. The Playground is open 24/7. Come have a look.
