Present! I was just logging to see if we've got a story for tonight and saw this. I'm good. Better than ever. I keep trying to post and even PM some to talk about what went down here, but it's depressing and I don't want to drag anyone down or trigger something in someone. All is well with my world and I am embracing the peace in that, appreciating the fragility of all things and enjoying the now.

We've had two car incidents to tend to - no one was injured - thanks be to God - but you know the drill, insurance, rental cars, settlements BLEH - tied up my down time for a couple of weeks. But I'll take it -minor inconvenience all is well .

And then the Ogre whisked me off for a week in the woods - we we were gone all last week. Just us in a cabin near a state park (Fall Creek Falls) - left the kids to mind themselves. We were mostly secluded - it was wonderful, the best vacation I think I've ever had. We hiked 4 or 5 hours a day. Slept in, had coffee watching the birds, cooked over a campfire every night, never paid attention to the time. We saw waterfalls and caverns and sometimes felt like we were on a different planet. Came back feeling 10 years younger and stress free - it's amazing how healing that trip was. We almost cancelled it because I was so worried about leaving the kids, but I'm glad we didn't. About two hours on the road, I think I forgot I even had kids ;). I'm spilling it all here because I just saw that Moderator Marsha is going to see her granddaughter's recital (that is going to be sooo cute - safe travels! have fun!) and we're closing early. Glad I caught you. I'll get caught up during the downtime and try to make it over to the Territories.

Dang - I gotta go - it's closing time

Much love to all!

fljoe0 -- concerns as been missing almost a week. Had the knee issues and waiting on MRI. Sending out positive vibes. Ck in when you can!

Went in last Thursday to review MRI with doc and guess what? I do not have a torn meniscus. My knee looked good on the MRI. The doc was really stunned as he was fairly certain I had a torn meniscus. I'm not really sure what caused this issue but the doc sent fluid to the lab to see if maybe this was gout. I haven't got the results yet. If it is gout, it was a very odd case because I was missing some key symptoms like the constant throbbing pain. I had an episode of gout in my foot about 15-20 years ago and I mentioned this to both doctors but they did not think that's what it was. The first doctor gave me a prescription for indomethacin just in case and I took it for 4 or 5 days at the beginning of this and it did absolutely no good so I stopped taking it. Thursday, I got a cortisone shot and went back on the indomehtacin. The knee is feeling very good now (still a little limited in flexibility) and I'm walking without crutches. I have an appointment Friday. So right now, I'm not sure what was going on but I'm getting closer to normal again. Almost 3 weeks passed from when this started to when I had the MRI (Of course, I hobbled around for 4 or 5 days before I went to the doctor then it took two weeks to get MRI approved) and I was improving by the time I had the MRI. Having the MRI two weeks earlier probably would have helped a lot but that's not the way things work. Whatever it was, I was off my feet for nearly 3 weeks. It's nice to be walking again.

Well thank goodness you are not trapped in your reclining chair that plugs in!

Did you ever find out if it has a back up battery or not? I was thinking of you when I was pushing the button on mine and wondering how you're doing - glad to hear things are improving :m_excited:

I haven't crawled under the chair yet to look for a battery backup. I might be able to now but the past couple of weeks, if I would have got on the floor to look under the chair, I wouldn't have been able to get back up. :)

Please take care and may this be resolved quickly. Healing vibes.

....welllll, that buffaloes me too!......maybe some type of bursa sac inflammation, which I believe would show in the fluid....

I didn't have that redness either.

I walk 3 miles almost every night (except for the past month :)) and have for years. If I had some kind of injury, it seems I would have noticed something while walking. Even gout gives people some warning.

The morning of the day I started having trouble, I was perfectly fine. I took a shower and got ready for work and all was good. As I was leaving, I needed to unplug something under my desk before I left and I stooped down to unplug it. When I did, I felt a sharp pain behind my knee cap. I stood back up and the pain went away after 20 or 30 seconds and I went on with my day. I was being kind of careful that day because that pain worried me a little but I was fine during the day. That evening was when the knee started giving me trouble and the next day, I could barely walk.
