arrrgh.

No fair. I'm out. You are not speaking of Roland, then. Just using his name.

pah.

Well if I'd of said who from Stephen King's works can beat Roland in a gunfight......I don't think there would of been much of a conversation lol

*Looks at Tull*

Also its a hypothetical scenario (him being weaponless against another weaponless man/woman) in a hypothetical location.

Also why wouldn't I just wanna use Roland's name for something? :D

Its a good name and fun to say.

Roland, Roland, Roland, Roland, Roland(say it five times fast)....Roland drinks Rolling Rock while riding a rolling carriage that's being pulled by a horse that rocks back and forth! Its so good it shows up all over history and myths, Stephen King used it for another character in Eyes of the Dragon and now that you've said that I'm afraid I may have to make a character named Roland in response!

Hmmmm

Wolf can't count.

The rule was no special abilities or powers or magic or psychics. You need to be a normal mortal either from our world or mid world or any other parallel world King has created and if you have any form of power such as the shine or telekinesis they'd be turned off in this fight.

Just a normal street fight in a normal bar against Roland.

No guns or knives either of course.

But I'd say picking up whatever would be close is fine such as stools, beer bottles, pool cues etc.

Oh well, in that case, Nettie Cobb would beat Roland before he even knew he was in a bar fight. She wouldn't think twice about grabbing a beer bottle or a pool cue to take Roland down. He might survive long enough to regret saying he killed her dog. Stupid comments usually start bar fights, right? :)

I have to agree with muskrat. Only Steven Deschain would stand a chance, even if he was a bit older than Roland (outside of dumb luck, for which Roland himself has a healthy respect. With that in play, just about anyone COULD take him down). He's got the same skills, the same training, but enjoys the benefit of more experience than Roland.

Okay so question...and its one I was conversing with a friend of mine.

Don't worry this isn't strictly a DT question.

We all of course read and write for the story and characters, the emotions. THE GOOD STUFF and not mindless violence...well when there is no reason to care behind it.

But this just was a weird topic that came up.

Its a very pointless question but we need it answered. Is there any human character in the works of Stephen King that can take Roland (at his best-not sick, well fed and not missing fingers) in a head on fist fight? No magic or psychic powers or any of that. Not a gun fight either obviously as I'm well convinced Roland might be unbeatable then.

So simple question

In a straight up street fight (in say a bar) can any other human King character beat Roland?
Maybe Alan Pangborn, he definitely has some gunslinger in him and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he is Roland, in the world of castle rock
