I hadn't pictured Lloyd as Vincent Vega, but now that you mention it, I could see it. I think on another thread someone thought of Kirsten Dunst as Frannie, which I could also see. It's strange, I really don't picture any particular actors when I think of the novel. I'd be interested to see what others are thinking, though.

This is less about a specific actor, and more a general wish, but I think it would be cool if they cast a culturally Deaf actor in the role of Nick and altered the script a bit to incorporate ASL or just signed English. I think the adaptation could do some really complex work (without altering the general feel of the novel) by being conscious about the casting of Nick (like was done in A Quiet Place).

They should go the extra mile and actually
poke the actors eye out

Ha, I will call it going the extra mile if

whoever gets cast as Lloyd goes full method actor and re-creates the jail scene (rat and leg in all) . . . boy that would be dark

Sam Elliott or Ron Perlman for Glen Bateman
Josh Hartnet for Larry Underwood
Toby Stephens for Randall Flagg
Stu Redman needs to be played by some All-American looking guy, the quintessential blue-collar Everyman, kind of like Bruce Springsteen. For some reason I just can't pick an actor for this one.

I like your ideas but completely disagree with your choice for Glen Bateman. I see him as weak (but not frail), short, over-the-hill...I think he's supposed to be balding. I am reading the book again so when I get to that part I will let you know. Frannie is tall, sexy, chestnut hair to her back. She should be young. Stu is older but not quite thirty if I'm not mistaken.

True, all valid observations Doc. Hey you remember you always talked about Scoot McNairy? I never realized that I do know him, after seeing Godless last year on Netflix. He really is a terrific character actor and would love to see him participate in the upcoming Stand adaptation.

Yeah, that's a good idea. He would have been a great Louis Creed. Maybe he could play Ralph? You know, the hayseed guy that had the pickup.

To be honest I imagine Glen Bateman as Jamie from Mythbusters
