Worst directors ever?

Weird. Hubby and I were discussing the best directors of all time earlier this evening. We didn't think about worst. Of course, in a discussion of worst directors, one must always mention Edward Wood Jr. Or, if by worst you mean overrated, Michael Bay or Renny Harlin come to mind. The Golden Raspberry Awards (Razzies) have given out awards to the worst director of the year since the 1980s.

I used to go to a sound engineering forum. If you posted a negative thread about anything, then a mod would immediately close it. They also prohibited text-like talking and required people to describe their gear in detail in their profiles. You couldn't invade a thread with a contradictory viewpoint or bring up a thread that was more than a month old. They prohibited most things, except breathing.

Overrated directors -

I agree with the comments about Snyder - brilliant at constructing eye-boggling visuals, but something deeply wrong with his mental processes. He should never be allowed to have any input to story/script, he's like a 14-year old who has only ever read comics and who hasn't taken his Ritalin.

Darren Aronofsky - his undoubted ability drowns in an ocean of pretentiousness. The Fountain and mother! are simply awful.

Nicolas Winding Refn - Neon Demon? Oh my....

Quentin Tarantino - stop reading your own publicity and believing it, Quentin! You're good, but you badly need someone to tell you "No! Don't do that!" from time to time.

Coen brothers - far too much sniggering from behind the camera at private jokes.
