Hello guys! I'm new here so please be kind :) In my senior year of high school, I had to write a Canterbury Tales. My family thinks I should get it copyrighted and published and I don't know the steps to take so I have been pondering sending it to Mr.King for editing or even simple advice. I know that's a lot to ask because he's a busy man but I feel like this short piece could be going somewhere. Advice from you all would be much appreciated and have a great weekend!

Find a respected friend or perhaps check your local library for resources. Just don't go to one of those on-line joints - they just want your money from what I hear and will shower you with compliments (for a price, of course!)

Sorry to sound so cynical.

Welcome to the SKMB and keep posting!

Sorry, but as noted in the FAQ, this isn't something Stephen would do. As was mentioned in another post, though, his book On Writing has a lot of advice for aspiring writers and would be a worthwhile investment to have on hand.

I agree with most of the comments, but I would check out online writers groups. Yes, most of them charge a small fee if you want to upgrade and you will find in the better ones, constructive, (be prepared for unadulterated honesty) critiques. The best IMO are Scribophile.com (my fave) and Critique Circle. There are many books on writing, and yes, King's On Writing is in my top five. Good luck!
