There is one business that, if I saw our illustrious "Mayor of Mayhem" working in, I'd be truckin' in the opposite direction triple ASAP. And I'm kinda betting some of y'all would feel somewhat similar. While Mr. King has thrilled the living daylights out of us with his "creative use of cars" in many of his tales, can you see yourself walking onto a car lot and having Stevie amble out with his hands stuffed deep in the pockets of an extremely loud, ill-fitting plaid outfit, and engage in selling you a new (or used) car? All I can say is that if you do, you've more courage than me. The adage "Be careful because you don't know where it's been" takes on a whole new meaning. Okay - - had my fun. I hope that he never runs out of "gas" when it comes to creative ways to shoehorn a vehicle or two into his tales. Also, a shout out to Steve and family, not to mention all you other acolytes - - wishing good health to all in 2017.

The station wagon must have come after high school during his college years.
Thanks, Marsha. I'm not sure where I'm getting the hearse memory. It seems like it was one of his buddies in the A&E Biography that said it. Maybe it was a joke or something? Now I will be watching those old clips...it's driving me nuts! ;)
I love the pic, thanks!

Just wanted to shout out a hearty "thanks" to all for your input. This from the OMG Dept: concerning this general topic, it's probably not cool to "dis" trucks by failing to mention their role in SK's works. I don't relish getting "smooshed" by an eighteen wheeler with an attitude, to boot.

That's my favorite scene! Kinda...you know what? That is a strange thing to say....Doc understands what I mean here, I've discussed how I feel about that book in detail. My two year old has a bizarre fear of trucks, and I SWEAR he's never seen the movie.

He'd probably offer me a really sweet deal and lead me where he wants. I'd be driving home with my new car and a little something extra I'd bet.
Lol...maybe a LOT extra! While such a buying experience COULD end up in your favor, it might, er, go "sideways." Quoting a line from H.P. Lovecraft's novella "The Case of Charles Dexter Ward," I'll say, "Do not call uppe any that ye cannot put downe."
