That's it, Tery! You've captured the floaty feel of the Twilight Sleep they put you in while performing the actual procedure perfectly! I have Crohn's Disease so I've had to submit to a colonoscopy on several occasions. It's a walk in the park compared to what the medical profession used to do to find out what's going on "down there." A camera up your butt is not the most pleasant way to spend an afternoon. I am not a fan of anyone messing with my poop shoot. However, it is better knowing things are okay, or as good as can be expected in my case, than getting blindsided later on. I understand completely those of you who are extremely reluctant to have the procedure done without good cause. I even empathize with you. Prayers for all of you who are having trouble with your intestines. I pray you have full remission, if not full recovery. Prayers for all of you who have loved ones going through this type of difficulty. As far as the preparation goes, the last colonoscopy I had, the doctor recommended a kit. It's been a few years, so I don't remember what it's called, but it wasn't nearly as horrendous as all previous preparations were. I don't believe I vomited even once. But yes, the brave souls who spoke up here in this thread are right. Take precautions. You may be spewing from both ends and, in some cases, simultaneously, before the actual procedure is done. By the time you reach the hospital, or wherever the doctor is performing the colonoscopy, you'll be trying to tie that rubber hose around your arm yourself and tapping your arm for a good vein to show itself in eager anticipation of that often spoken about in whispers Twilight Sleep!

Hi all
I had my colonoscopy yesterday, it wasn't pleasant but the good news is they didn't find any cancer or polyps. I go back to the Oncologist on Monday as they wanted to see the results of the colonoscopy. I'm still getting pain on my left side so will ask what that could be.

Hi all
I saw the Oncologist, he wasn't very helpful and said because nothing was found everything was ok. I see a different Doctor just about every time and this one I don't like. I need to see my GP in a couple of weeks about my colonoscopy so will see what he thinks, he is very good.

Hi all
I saw my GP and he's referred me back to my surgeon and luckily I have an appointment on Monday to see him. Only sent referral on Monday so very quick. I'm still having lots of pain, was told it might be scar tissue from my 2 surgeries. I've also been having lots of pain in my left thigh, a couple of times I could hardly walk it might be some sort of arthritis so GP has referred me to another specialist.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes.

Okay so I had my routine colonoscopy today and everything was fine: no polyps or tumors or anything to be concerned about. As many have stated here, the prep was worse than the procedure itself. But really even the prep wasn't that bad, I guess I was prepared for it to be worse. Yeah, it didn't taste great but I think I've paid for worse tasting drinks. I think the toughest part was just not eating any food on the last day: broth and gelatin can only do so much for you!

Anyway, thanks for all the nice support and it's great to have a clean bill of health. I don't have to have another for another 10 years!
