Hands down (IMO), the best movie soundtrack is from Maximum Overdrive.

Who Made Who is a hard rock album by Australian band AC/DC, released in 1986 as the soundtrack to the Stephen King movie Maximum Overdrive. It was re-released in 2003 as part of the AC/DC Remasters series.

The film has a mid-1980s hard rock soundtrack composed entirely by the group AC/DC, King's favorite band. AC/DC's album Who Made Who was released as the Maximum Overdrive soundtrack. It includes the best-selling singles "Who Made Who", "You Shook Me All Night Long", and "Hells Bells".

Stephen must have paid one a pretty penny for the soundtrack. :)

Other movies I enjoy watching, sometimes just to listen to the soundtrack, include Easy Rider, A Hard Day's Night, American Graffiti, The Graduate, A Knight's Tale, Pulp Fiction, Quadrophenia, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Hanna, The Breakfast Club, Flash Gordon and Highlander (Flash Gordon and Highlander soundtracks were written by the rock group Queen).

Quadrophenia is an awesome movie as well as an awesome soundtrack. I bought the Criterion Collection blu-ray version a couple years ago. It's all fixed up and looks and sounds great.

I ran out and bought a Panasonic quadraphonic sound system when The Who put out Quadrophenia. It was amazing at the time listening to the music 'travel' all around you.

That Tarantino movie with Kurt Russell as 'Stuntman Mike'. I bought the soundtrack on CD. It is most excellent. This was the first soundtrack I ever bought except for 'Flash Gordon' by Queen on vinyl when it first came out (although I never saw the movie).
You don't know what you're missing. The writing... well, let’s just say it’s out of this world.

‘Flash, Flash, I love you, but we only have fourteen hours to save the Earth!’

“Go Flash, Go!’

‘Flash Gordon. Quarterback. New York Jets.’

I just watched it again the other week. Have always had a crush on Princess Aura. :)

Okay, I know I'm exposing myself to ridicule with the first two...

Valley Girl
Fast Times at Ridgemont High

Goodfellas

You tell me a scene and I bet I could tell you the song playing during it.
I've always liked Valley Girl and Fast Times at Ridgemont High, too. :facepalm_smiley:

Never been a fan of mafia movies, so I can take or leave Goodfellas. Yeah, I know... Turn in your man card! :)
