My latest is the outsider about a week ago. I went to wh smith where I usually get my purple collector's editions from but they only had one copy of the normal one left.

Purple or red, I think I prefer the US cover this time.

I haven't got this book but just looking at the couple of pictures and the title, it reminds me of some bits of It.
I Googled it a short time ago and it does start out with a child and a paper boat... it actually reminds me of another toy boat children's story that I used to read to my kids. I think lots of stories have similarities... and most kids will have floated a paper (or similar) boat down a rain-filled gutter at some point during childhood, I think that kind of story calls to people and reminds them of growing up.

Is that Float children's book by Daniel Miyares, is that related in anyway to Stephen King or the book It?
It's not directly related to It, but the imagery is there- young boy in yellow rain slicker, making a paper boat and sailing it down the rain water next to the sidewalk, boat disappearing into the grate, etc. It just makes me smile to see the illustrations in the book as it totally reminds me of It.

A kids version of It.
