Hi Dana (and everyone)!

First of all, thank you much for the kind words about the book. As you can tell from reading it, I'm a Constant Reader like everyone here, and I wrote this book for folks just like us. I'm glad you found it approachable - that was my hope.

As for the artwork, Cemetery Dance chose Vincent as the artist, and asked me if I had any suggestions. I took a look at Vincent's work and shared a few thoughts:

- Something similar to Vincent's The End of the World or Abandoned paintings on his website (I've attached the images so you can take a look)
- An interpretation of Randall Flagg, perhaps his arms outstretched
- A burning Las Vegas

I was absolutely blown away with what Vincent came up with, beyond my wildest expectations.

If you love the cover, you can order prints from Vincent's website - I'm going to, even though my daughter says "it's freaky" :)
Welcome to SKMB Andy Burns :cheerful:

Welcome, Andy! I got my copy recently and can't wait to go behind the scenes of one of my favorite King novels.

Ayuh. That's what I gather the subject is.

The book takes you through the history of The Stand - what inspired King, and what he went through to write it and eventually have it published, and then the expanded version. I then look at the various incarnations that came afterwards - the failed movies, the mini-series, audio book, and comic book adaptation.

Hope you enjoy it!

I also went to the thrift store and found new copies of One Hundred Years of Solitude and As I Lay Dying for a dollar each. Thanks to Dan, the Patron Saint of the Salvation Army. ;) kingricefan
