...apparently Koontz wrote up some pretty risqué stuff as well years ago, under a myriad of aliases.....and nary a bodice ripping retriever to be found!.....
I forgot to add that on the copyright pages of these three books it says:
@(date) Charles L. Grant. I wonder how many of the readers of these books realized that they were written by a man?

Today I came home with a nice hardback 1st printing of The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, sans a dustjacket. I should be able to find a nice later printing of it and use the dustjacket for the 1st printing. Fingers crossed!
Well, a new Goodwill just opened today here in Spokane (we're up to 4 now) and I went for the grand opening and found an unread hardback 1st of The Whistler by John Grisham. The reason I'm quoting myself is because I stopped at the Value Village afterwards and found a later hardback printing of The Joy Luck Club with a beautiful dust jacket that I can put on the 1st printing that I bought yesterday. It's even in a Brodart cover! The Book Collector Gods smiled upon me today!!

Today I stopped at a local used book store and found these. 'Felicia Andrews' is a non-de-plume that Charles L. Grant used. I still have to find the first book in this series. Just glancing through the novels, they are filled with some rather graphic sex scenes. I'm surprised as Charlie was a rather quiet, demure type of guy. Who would have thought he had such ideas inside his head.....

Romance supports the rest of the publishing industry--biggest seller there is. I imagine that lots of 'name' authors started the Pink Ghetto :)

Yesterday after work the little voice in my head told me to stop at the Goodwill on the way home. Glad I did. I found a beautiful mint ARC of Sunset And Sawdust by Joe Lansdale and a very nice third hardback printing of Thinner by 'Richard Bachman'.

Well you lucky dude.
Linda, I pretty much ran out of that store after paying for it!! I thought about turning right back around, go into the store to their 'Buying' counter and ask them how much they'd give me for a beautiful 1st printing of Carrie. ;-D They had one a few months before this in a glass showcase and were asking $750 for it and it wasn't anywhere near as nice as the one I bought. I probably could have made a nice $300-4oo that day......
