I finally received my Bachman collection (ordered it to a US friend's house and he sent it to me later).

It includes "Rage". I want to read "The Long Walk" first, though.

Found this for a dollar in my second hand store. Havent got it earlier because i've read a lot of very mixed reviews of this one. I really like Carrion Comfort and the Terror so thought it was worth a shot. My TBR pile is soon as high as Everest........

I hope you like pages and pages of descriptions of mountain climbing and the equipment needed to pursue that activity because thats all I can remember from reading it a few years ago. It's well written but don't expect a horror novel.

Found The Outsider in hardback in the charity shop beside where my daughter works, quite pleased with that, they don't seem to release SK's books in hardback here anymore, at least not the last few, just the oversized paperback editions.

That was lucky! I'm in the process of recording the TV series right now

A while ago I found a hardback copy of Rose Madder on a charity table at Wilko's (bca edition) and last night I finished reading it

What was your impression? Did you like the book? I recall reading this and enjoying it a lot, even the fantasy bits.

Can I ask why this forum is only open at certain times? There are occasions when I'm unable to post because of the time zone difference (I'm in the UK)
I only work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and the other three moderators are volunteering their time so I did not feel it was fair to ask them to work more hours than I do when I'm getting paid for the job. It was also a way of weaning members off the Board as it will be shuttered when I retire at the end of June.

May I suggest you look at The Playground- a site started by a SKMB member for when the SKMB is closed. The PLayground is open 24/7 and many members from here are there.

Found hardback 1st printings of Less Than Zero by Bret Easton Ellis, Legends Of The Fall by Jim Harrison and No Deadly Drug- the anatomy of a celebrity murder trial by John D. MacDonald- this is a non-fiction account of the trial of Doctor Carl Coppolino. All books are in fantastic shape!!
I love the Legends of the Fall movie. I will have to look for the book. Never knew there was one.

yesterday while i was out of town, i went to a thrift store and found and bought the old paperback of John Grisham's The Partner.

funny thing is that i used to have and read that back in 1998 and it was the last good Grisham novel at the time back then.

So now Im happy that I have the paperback again. Dunno why I got rid of my old copy back then.
