This is going to sound really Un-American....but I hate Beer! With a passion.....gross stuff! :barf:;-Dlol. However...I do LOVE a good wine or cocktail with a burger.

I like a good beer served at the proper temperature. I developed an allergy to wine. (Bad, horrible headache with a single swallow. BAD headache.) I don't mind cocktails but usually one is enough for me. Too sweet.

That's unfortunate.....I don't know what I'd do without wine! lmao

You learn to drink Scotch when you can't drink wine. LOL. I used to drink wine, loved port and sherry. Then one day, after just a couple of swallows-bad headache. It was scary bad headache. Someone told me it might be the tannin? I learn very quickly. One bad experience and I learn.

I might have a margarita now and then, though. Here's one for me and one for you!

To answer the original question, I have 2 "perfect" burgers that I love equally.

- medium well beef patty with loads of bacon slices and smothered with heaps of melted Monterey Jack on kaiser roll.

- medium well beef patty in between 2 slices of melted American cheese with ketchup and yelow mustard (has to be yellow) and a layer of thinly sliced pickles (also on a kaiser roll).

Add a side order of seasoned waffle fries (with Ranch for dipping) and I'm in heaven.

Bacon, yeah! How could I forget this? "Excellent" - (Bill and Ted's voice).

Love me a good burger! Has to be a beef patty cooked medium, a sesame seed roll, Tillamook cheddar (those who know it, know why), crisp bacon, tomato, lettuce, bread-and-butter pickles, mayo, ketchup, yellow mustard. I am not a fan of beer, either, so I like a cold Pepsi. And thick-cut fries. Red Robin hits all those spots for me.

Sounds most excellent!

Tell me, what are bread-and-butter pickles, please? I can Google it, but would like to know to one that has had them.

Thank you!

No, I can understand it. Beer's an acquired taste. It's got a sour/bitter tone to it. Like yogurt, only not. Or like coffee. Only not. But I can see a person sipping it and going, "WHAT is the RAGE about THIS?"

In fact, that was my reaction with my very first sip. But I got over it.

This may sound like sacrilege... but while I love a good margarita (and the many gallons of margs I made for Daughter's wedding were very popular), I consider margaritas to be an effective delivery vehicle for cheap tequila.

Give me a nice reposado or anejo to sip, and I'm as happy as I am with any marg.

Five Guys burgers.

Y'know, if we're not grilling our own burgers, that's the one place that we go for take-out. We split one, and it's plenty. And the fries. Oh, my.

Hey Grandpa!

I can smell bourbon from a mile away. No, thank you. When I was...18 years old? I got drunk on some tequila drink. Have mercy. I went to work with half my make-up. (I literally went in with just one false eye-lash)

I was dragging serious azz. Went to the cooler (water fountain) and gulped water . I then proceeded to run to the bathroom to puke cold water. Have mercy!

I have talked to people (like my eldest son) about strong adverse reactions to various alcohols (in his case, tequila) that prompted a lifetime ban.

That's a problem I have yet to experience.
