Welcome

The Dark Tower has become a favorite of many of Stephen’s
constant readers. So much so, that a separate site within his
site is dedicated to the series and its related works. Here you
will find information about the series, news of the Marvel Dark
Tower comic series, and more.
The Books

At the age of 19 Stephen decided he would
like to write an epic similar to
The Lord of the Rings.
The “spaghetti Westerns” of that time and a poem written by
Robert Browning, “Childe Roland to the Dark Tower Came,” became
the inspiration for his magnum opus. The series written and
published separately over a period of 22 years consists of seven
books and the short story, “The Little Sisters of Eluria”
published in his short story collection,
Everything’s Eventual.

The Graphic Novels

Expanding upon the stories in the
series and under the direct supervision of Stephen, Marvel has
created The Dark Tower comics, beautifully illustrated by Jae
Lee and Richard Isanove with stories by Peter David and Robin
Furth. The series is first published in individual monthly
installments and then collected in a hardcover edition. Each
version contains material unique to its format.
