I have absoutely no self control. Not only bought Mr. Mercedes yesterday, i was up until a ridiculous hour finishing it. *sigh* Someday maybe I'll learn the fine art of making a King book last...

I love these UK covers! Wish I could get them all in hardbacks. I have DT VII in hardback but have been unable to find the rest. Sigh......
I don't think it's a non-de-plume. I've seen his name for quite a number of years and have never heard that it's a fake name. I could be wrong tho....Finished Mr. Mercedes. Great story. I'm gonna get a little pause from King now. I'm going on with an alternate history story called Hitlers war by Harry Turtledove. Do you believe that name? It got to be a pseudonym or something. It was recommended to me by my brother. It's premise is that that britain and France didn't turn tail when Hitler invaded chechoslovakia in 1938 but declared war then instead of one year later when Hitler was more prepared. The war takes another direction because of it. Just a little tease.
I bought 'Mr Mercedes' today. I have to finish the two books I'm reading now. Then the 'Master'.Just finished a re-read of The Shining and I'm about to venture into Dr Sleep for the first time.
Can't wait.
I didn't know you could get that style in hard back. My 1-7 are paper backs, I love how the spine is the same as the front. I just wish my volume 7 was smaller.I love these UK covers! Wish I could get them all in hardbacks. I have DT VII in hardback but have been unable to find the rest. Sigh......
Ah a pink floyd fan. Initally, with you saying underneath your avatar, i thought you were A James Herbert Fan. (he will be sadly missed) He had a book called Moon. But if i remember the Stand I think it is tom Cullen who says that.I didn't know you could get that style in hard back. My 1-7 are paper backs, I love how the spine is the same as the front. Oh! OK then. It was just my gut reaction when i heard the name. Turtledove. I imagined a dove sitting and cooing just over two lovers heads. But then he doesn't seem to write romances so it was perhaps a conclusion that wasn't fully logical. Difficult to forget anyhow...I don't think it's a non-de-plume. Ha ha, yeah, Tom Cullen says M-O-O-N spells everything. I love the floyd, and I have a few James Herbert books (not Moon though) but haven't read them yet, my Sister loved him though.Ah a pink floyd fan. Thanks, Danie, I'll keep these two in mind for follow-up. I also had a bit of difficulty with "Spandau Phoenix". Lots of different leads and characters in the beginning, and at times the story was a bit hard to stay with. It got easier, though, so maybe you'll have better luck with it later on!One of my favorite Iles books is Turning Angel. And even though I've read most of his books and really enjoyed them, Spandau Phoenix I couldn't get into. Started it briefly and put it aside for another time. Blood Memory is another I like.
You should definitely read all the 11 "Rules...", sir. If I am not mistaken the series gets more and more hardcore from book to book. And moreover, there's a prequel called "Debt of Bones", which won't hurt as well.I had to have more so I bought the first book in the series, Wizard's First Rule, and started reading it the other day
I always savour my King reads. But then life has kept me busy lately, so this time it's out of necessity.I have absoutely no self control. Not only bought Mr. Mercedes yesterday, i was up until a ridiculous hour finishing it. *sigh* Someday maybe I'll learn the fine art of making a King book last...
