Doing some diving, following a sea turtle, and I saw a mermaid!! I'm gonna start a TV show!!!

Okay, fine, it was at the Denver Aquarium.

Speaking of which:

You can ask me why they have tigers at the Denver Aquarium when there's a perfectly good Denver Zoo a few miles away, but I can't answer it.

And yes, I know his eyes are bright and fierce. I did that, okay? I thought it looked cooler.

More at the Denver Aquarium. We've seen the tiger; now let's see the lion(fish).

Switching away from the aquarium. Grandma and I went hiking at a place called Well Gulch, up above our town. On the way up, though, on another little side trip that wasn't rewarding, we saw an old shed.

The gulch itself wound up through the rocks, along a creek bed that was sometimes dry, sometimes had a little of a rill in it.

Thistles are ugly weeds.

Well, they're not completely ugly.

You know that cacti flower, right?

A couple years ago, there was this devastating event called the High Park Fire around these here parts.

The grasses and bushes and flowers and scrub have come back quickly.

The trees take longer.

The hike gave us a nice view back to the plains, our town, and the reservoir above it.

I like those! I've wanted to get hay rolls in the right configuration (meaning when they hit me at a time when I'm not driving past on the highway, not really able to stop.)

And reminding me. I was asked by a casual friend if I'd want to come out to her little ranch and take some photos. I did and sent a few to her. No response, ever. I guess she didn't like them. So you get to see them.

My first good guitar. Had it since 1989. It was a 16th birthday gift from my Folks. Of course, the only original thing left on it now is the body. I've replaced the neck once and the electronics several times. The cool Xenomorph pick guard is a recent addition. She's a hot rodded Strat now.

The first guitar I bought myself. 1993 American Standard Stratocaster. She's been modded a bit as well. Swapped out the pick-ups. This is my primary guitar.

Somehow those footprints look very eerie... like they're substituting for the yellow stripes down an old two- lane highway.
