I had to go to the doctor again last evening to confirm I had another urinary tract infection. That makes 3 for this year. And they keep finding blood in my urine, I don't see it, but they do.
I go to my family doctor on August 12th, and the doctor I saw last night wants him to refer me to a specialist about this. This is getting redundant.

...it is literally irritating and very frustrating honey...you have a number of factors that predispose you to recurrent UTI's...you are post-menopausal, have had periods of lengthy inactivity due to health issues...you're older-meaning your immune system isn't as strong...and you could be retaining some urine after voiding, which is giving bacteria a rich growth medium...go to the specialist, the blood is microscopic if it's not visible to the naked eye, but is indicative of some type of inflammatory process-apparently a chronic one...start getting answers and the anger will tail off...

I feel for you. I wouldn't wish a UTI on my worst enemies. Best of luck in getting this straightened out.

I was reading the paperwork the doctor gave me, and saw she put that I have kidney disease. What?? Really? She never said a word to me about that. I am thinking the 2 surgeries have a lot to do with this
Thanks guys for the encouraging words. IF I could get in to see my family doctor, I could get this taken care of sooner. I can NEVER get in to see him if I am really sick. I have to go to a walk=in service or the emergency room. How stupid is that? I am just angry about the whole thing. And, Bryan, I couldn't agree more!

There's got to be a really good internist in your town, as well as a good renal person. Kidney disease is really serious, and if you weren't told that you have it, that's grounds for a pretty sizable lawsuit - but that's my opinion.
Change doctors. If yours won't see you as soon as he can when there's a UTI happening and there's kidney disease involved, that's negligence. I know the power of an antibiotic and a muscle relaxant, even if you pee Halloween orange after taking the relaxant, but that's nothing compared to the power of a doctor who really cares about you.
